I took about five or six bags into Barclays recently: they didn't appear to have any limits.

Can't see how a bank could justify saying no to be honest, it's all legal currency isn't it? ???

I took quite a few bags into the Abbey recently to pay into my account after a charity collection (I was going to write a cheque honest) and they told me that customers in queues complained if staff spent too long mucking about with change, so limit it to 2 if in correct bags.

Feeble I know.

At Barclays as long as you are an account holder and the coin is bagged in correct amounts and denominations then you can exchange as much as you like or pay it into your account.

Can see why they'd say that I suppose. Go in at a quieter time?

Get as many bags as you can carry then go to the bank at lunch time and hold the queue up for as long aa you can

I've got one of those demijon thingys. Full almost to the top with 1s 2s and 5s which i have been collecting for over 10 years or so, so that 7 % would be a fair amount methinks.

The HSBC in Surbiton has one of those machines that I used to use regularly. Genius time saving devise. Haven't been able to find one since though so my change jar is growing ever bigger.

It'd been counted, hence why it's bagged up ready. The bank just needs to weigh each bag.
