Think where your taxes go on ALL the Royals.

Diana may have been a beneficiary, but it seems to me she was working for good causes. For that reason, I begrudge her her wages far less than the nob-end she married.

I do not have much time for Charles generally but to give the impression that Diana did more for charity than he did/does is frankly ridiculous. His charitable causes are less photogenic but he seems to be more concerned with the environment, which at the end of the day will cause more death than aids and land mines put together of nothing is done.

So in conclusion, sighting any royals charity work as a reason why they are good person is bollocks they all do far more than the average person because they do not have to work and it is expected by the general public. They are effectively keeping their end of the bargain, we pay for their homes and lifestyle they give a higher profile to various charitable causes.

But she didn't start out as a Royal, or ask to be used as a beard by one.
Once in, she could have milked it - she had no obligation towards anyone and wasn't raised in Buckingham palace.
She chose to take up causes, and prince twat of wales can have his secretary do his charity for him while combining it with a nice safari.

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
If not for self-promotion, why then did she invite tabloid editors to lunch?

Maybe she was fed up with the press coverage and wanted to get her side of the story across. Let's face it, not a single royal, before her in recent history, has faced such media attention. Maybe she felt it would be the beginning of the end.

'Members of the Royal Family are invited to become patrons by a wide range of charities and organisations.

Between them, members of The Royal Family hold approximately 3,000 patronages of charitable organisations.

The Queen’s patronages alone number around 600, a large number of which were inherited from her father, George VI, on her Accession.

Patronages generally reflect the interests of the member of the Royal Family involved.

The Duchess of Cornwall is President of the National Osteoporosis Society. Both her mother and grandmother died as a result of the brittle bone disease.

Princess Alexandra, who undertook a nursing course at Great Ormond Street Hospital after leaving school, is Patron of both the Princess Mary’s Royal Air Force Nursing Service and Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service.

Many of The Prince of Wales’s patronages stem from his passions for the environment and the arts, whilst Prince William’s involvement with the Centrepoint charity reflects his long-standing interest in homelessness and the people affected by it.' (Welcome to the official website of the British Monarchy)

Still I am sure Di's charities were more worthy than all the other royals.

Who cares, the sad thing is that those two lads lost there Mum. Beyond that she was just a person. None of the public knew her and the ridiculous out pouring form this country was nothing short of embarassing. Get over it, move on. She would not have given a crap if any of us had died.

The fact of the matter is, if she wasn't sniffing around with Dodi instead of being at home with her family, she would still be here today...
I agree , disgraceful behaviour, fancy being out with her boyfriend on the lash, especially when her estranged, long suffering husband had behaved so blamelessly.

Always the same unfounded smears without ever answering the real questions, but that's probably because you know your answers don't bear any real scrutiny.

My original quote was from that bastion of the establishment Private Eye.
