having a tinkle at the luxurious surroundings of withdeans porto potty,i noticed behind me plumes of smoke coming from the sit down ploppers, not really ever thinking about it b4 until then but is there not a specified place within withdean for smokers?..

And anybody stopped going to withdean because of the smoking ban (if there is not a specified smoking area)
:)

No specified area - the FA ruled that all football league and premier league stadiums are strictly non-smoking.

Were they really smoking and having a crap at the same time? I haven't done that in years - tsk, that takes me back.

Im pretty sure Dannyseagull combines the 2 and throws in a wank for good measure if i remember rightly from a thread of last season, those sit downers have no locks so i dont think i could manage either let alone all 3

Best time of the morning, fag and book of choice. You know you've finished when your legs go numb. :lolol:
Surely all stadia are public places therefore it's illegal to smoke inside. I thought I was being a bit of a rebel, puffing away at Lewes and Havant.

Right here, right now
There are signs everywhere inside Withdean Stadium confirming that it is indeed a No Smoking Area. You can go outside the gates to smoke but you won't be allowed back in.

This is what i would of thought, but was not sure grounds set aside smoking areas like pubs ect,i guess the law must be different for football stadia than it is for pubs

I seem to remember that the FA introduced the rulew to clear up any smoking-law related confusion!

Be rather strange if you pop out for a ciggy and the barman tells you sorry guv your not allowed back in until you have brushed your teeth,2 hours without a cig for some people must seem a eternity and was just curious to see if it had stopped anybody from attending.

I'm wondering if the new 'Smart Card' thing being introduced at Falmer will mean that people will be able to pop out at H/T for a cig (or whatever) if they so wish?

Bristol city had a smoking area last year

would expect the smoking ban to contribute to one of the reasons for poor attendances as well as the stadium, shite atmosphere, poor football and ridiculous ticket cost...................

That sounds like a good idea,i couldnt think of anything worse than not being able to indulge in ones addiction while watching Brighton and hove albion,if rowntrees fruit pastilles were banned i simply wouldnt go.

Yeah but apart from all that, what's not to enjoy?

its probably the same as the train platforms and churchyards. considered public, you are not allowed to smoke in them either despite being open air, meanwhile bus shelters and semi-covered enclosed beer gardens are ok to smoke in.

or, it could just be cocks mis-interpreting the law, putting up signs which those without detailed knowledge of the law assume to be valid.

We need to make a stand on this people, or it'll be a case of:-

First they came for the smokers
& because I wasn't a smoker I did nothing.

Then they came for the fruit pastel eaters..

:ban:

This was the subject of virtually every phone-in last season, seemed to be Ian Hart's "thing".

What, smoking and defecating at the same time?
