I think we all agreed that Saturday was a must win game.
How this team is suddenly going to catch fire and take a minimum of 13 points from 5 games is quite beyond me !
The bad habits acquired all season...i.e conceding goals in the few minutes either side of half-time and towards the end of games is suddenly going to stop ? The defensive cock-ups are all going to disappear and our strikers are suddenly going to go on a scoring spree, supplied by our impressive midfield.
Yes, we have 5 mid-table sides to play but no-one is kidding me that they will rollover a la Yeovil and Hereford.
It has painfully dawned on me in recent weeks that we are one of the three worst sides in this division. Before then, I was kidding myself. I kept going through our side man for man and making out a case for us underperforming.
No more...reality has set in...no more hoping for minor miracles.
We have gone from a decent side yo-yoing between Championship and Div.1 to a ' confidence lacking shambles ' that is limping weakly into the basement division.
The saddest thing is that none of the remaining games bother me anymore. I feel, that after witnessing home defeat after home defeat, I've had all the stuffing taken out of me. Game after game chucked away by schoolboy errors ( and thats harsh on schoolboys ! )..mistakes in the boardroom, mistakes every week by management and players.
There's only so much you can take and I've now had my gutful...I'll spend the summer trying not to think about BHA and when the fixtures come out, I'll see if the fire is back in the belly.
Got a funny feeling its going to take longer to get the enthusiasm back this time.

Some very good and very valid points. However I hope to be at the remaining home games ... and will be back next season whichever division.

Why? Because I'm a Brighton and Hove Albion supporter.

In 1980/81, Brighton followed an abject run of two wins out of 15 matches by winning their last four games to get out of jail on the last day of the season.

OK, that's no guide for what's going to happen this season, but shows it is possible.

Anything is possible until the mathmetics say it isn't.

Unfortunately, the form guide says Albion are as good as down. To lose to relegation rivals at home (including Swindon on Saturday) has been the downfall.:annoyed:

However, like most people on here although I believe we are down and I am praying that RS can finally get some character from this team. :bounce:

We could well do it but like one of the other posters I have now officially had the stuffing knocked out of me, having said that if for one of the following reasons we do stay up
we get enough points to do so
two of the other teams in the division go bust and have points deducted.

I will still and always will be an Albion supporter
we should all be used to this roller coaster ride its in our job description.

Ha! Part one of my ludicrous masterplan is complete! (In fact, I only had us down to draw today so even better).

Roll on the weekend as the Great Escape continues!*

Not one to make excuses but we have been a bit unlucky with injuries and I suspect things may have been different with Forster, Murray and Mcnulty i.e More goals scored and less goals conceded

hahaha love it

2 draws looks totally beyond us , let alone 1 win . 3 wins with this team is impossible I'm afraid

Well... There's the hat trick. Can't believe they've racked up the 3 wins already... One more should do it!!

It's all good!

Can't believe my own away record this season... I work Saturday evenings, so can't usually get to games on the road, but the ones I've seen are Millwall, Colchester and Bristol Rovers. In such a dreadful season, that's a pretty good run of luck

Ok.. I suppose I shouldn't keep bouncing this... but I'm feeling pretty happy about that prediction now.

Just one more game. Anyone know where I can buy the head polish? :yahoo:

I'm delighted to inform you that, courtesy of the infallible BBC Predictor, we will survive on the final day of the season by beating Stockport amid tumultuous scenes at Withdean. Russell Slade will be carried shoulder high around the ground and receive a free lifetime's supply of head polish (it didn't tell me the last bit - I'm just guessing).

Seriously though, I was pretty sensible about the scores and that was achieved with three wins and two draws.

Right, I'm off to take my medication and hit the road to Colchester

My final bounce!

I just feel I should apologise for getting this so badly wrong. Fancy thinking we'd only get THREE wins...

Just fantastic. Brilliant lads, and Slade is a legend!
