The problem is we are the paying customer. its a bit like currys saying one of their telly suppliers is making duff tellies but we're not going to tell you which one. They would lose a lot of telly sales!

The club need to go back to being honest with the supporters.

As Paul Samrah has just said "The club’s past successes were based on good communication...".

If you're going to use that analogy, it's more accurate to say that it's like Curry's telling you which telly is duff, taking it from you and not saying WHY.

I've no idea about any 'boardroom split'. That would be conjecture which just isn't worth debating.

However, this is the first time since Dick took over that the fans have really started getting pissed off with the club. And this is the first time since that some fans have got pissed off with the club since NSC became open to everyone.

During the 95/97 years, maybe only 15-20% of fans had access to the internet, and could leave a message on Gary Crittenden's messageboard.

I think - and I am guessing here - that the tone of NSC this week, as well as emails and stuff to the club, plus John's stuff on the radio, has genuinely shocked the club. I feel that the club are merely making gestures and overtones to say to people that 'yes we know it's not great on the pitch, but it's certainly not THAT bad with everything else at the moment, and that our common purpose would be best served by uniting'.

You could call it spin. I'd call it something less sinister, but I don't know what.

No ammount of spin, appeals to my better nature or admonitions to Keep the Faith are going to alter the evidence of my own eyes. I actually found it hard to give away our two tickets for the games going on while we are away. That has never, ever been the case before and it is not for any other reason than that watching the Albion at the moment has become an ordeal, neither pleasurable or entertaining.

I'm loving the inherent personality incongruosness of it all, it reminds me of More Than 90 Minutes. John mouthing off with his ingrained passion, Paul trying to pull everyone together and analysing things as sensibly as possible with the sort of balance most of us can only dream of on the seesaw of emotions the expensive business of loving the Albion creates. Unfortunately we have a team destined for a lower midtable finish in a division we once looked heavenwards at and a beautiful stadium on the way, so it all feels a bit unnecessary these days. I agree with both and know that neither would be swayed by their inner sanctum involvement.

When I said 'not that bad', I meant that people are taking on the fact that we're shit on the pitch means the Falmer is in jeopardy, the club is falling apart, and that the tumbleweed is rolling through the offices.

On pitch stuff we can see and we deal with in our own way. Off-pitch stuff which we can't sometimes leads people to put two and two together and make... well, anything you like.

Sorrry, but I'm chuckling at some of the comments on this thread. All this stuff about reading between the lines and trying to get some deep interpretation of subtle meaning behind his comments.

Isn't this an (admittedly well known) supporter just giving his views. I doubt he crafted every single word he said in order to imply some subtle nuance about what is going on behind the scenes financially, managerially or whatever.

Enough conspiracy theories already.
