I agree that Tommy Fraser should keep the shirt. However if we are going to go back to the diamond then maybe play him at the tip of that with bas & Forster up front

Forster Bas

George

Cox Hammond

Fraser

Hammond has no pace, so starting him out wide right is wrong. He'd only drift inside which would congest the midfield and leave space for the opposition left wing to exploit.

Hammond has to earn his place in the team by putting in performances. He's been very ordinary this season but can do better. He'll need to, because Fraser is a better defenisve midfielder and O' Callaghan is a better ballplayer. Hammond is capable of scoring more goals, but if he isn't delivering Wilkins should drop him.

You've got to be f***ing joking.

I wouldn't play him at all. He's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. Fraser did well in his place and should keep the shirt. Make Primadonna George wait his turn.

I agree with that. Fraser is also 100% Brighton.

Problem - having too many decent players to fit in
It's a very long time since the Albion had that sort of problem especially in midfield.
I think G O'C is a very good player but I think his best position would be a bit further up the pitch

so do where his passing could cause trouble but not upfront

Quite. Tommy Fraser has done more than enough to keep the shirt in his last two starts. George needs to fight his way back into the side just like at anywhere else he might end up. Either that or he can piss RIGHT off. Disappointing attitude :nono:

Whata fickl;e bunch on here. When Gorge came everybody. well the vast majority. were saying that DK should break the bank and our wage structure to sign him as he was the answer to our problems. He gets injured and Fraser, one for the future, steps in and has one good game at home and one nondescript game away and he suddenly becomes the favourite and G O'C is crap and out of the picture.

For my 2penneth I would put George straight back in when he is fit and bring Tommy Fraser on as and when needed and bring him into the team gradually rather than straight in and expect him to play like Gerrard or Hargreaves.

???

One of us appreciates what he does for The Albion, despite what all the bandwagonjumpers of NSC say.

ive always maintained he is not good enough - as has proven this season. however, you are only as good as your last game, and he has earnt the right to keep the shirt. still, first name on the team sheet - i reckon he is one of the last on the team sheet

incidentally, fraser did nothing noticable on saturday. still, i would drop hammond for o'callaghan, as he still needs a kick up the arse to rediscover his player of the season form

The 'experts' always say that if you don't notice a midfield or defender, he didn't do anything wrong. At least Dean Wilkins now has a pleasant dilemma in a key area of the squad. Only two months ago we were desperate for something to happen in the midfield.

Not so much fickle as disliking the attitude of a loan player. As Tom Hark posted, 'disappointing attitude'

Having no pace as a winger is not a problem. Darren Currie remains one of the best wingers we've had in recent years and he was slower than me - which is pretty slow. Hammond also had a great spell under McGhee out wide where he scored a lot of goals. He wouldn't be a winger, he would be a wide midfielder... there's a difference

To not play George would be a nonsense. He remains our best player. End of.

Personally I'd move Hammond wide to accomodate him.

We have 4 games in 12 days from Saturday, though, so we're probably going to need them all anyway.

How can you knock the man? We tried to buy him but could not agree his terms, so in order to atract other clubs he agreed to join us on loan to put himself in the shop window by playing games. If we do not pick him he might just as well stay at home and sit on Ipswich bench or in their reserve team which will atract more scouts tha we do.

Frasers first EIGHT forward pass attempts against Hartlepool failed to reach their intended target.

He was very ordinary.

Still, one good game apparently makes him better than Sidwell, so he must play instead of George:rolleyes:

When O'Callaghan's in the side we play better as a team. He has a good eye for a pass, he can tackle and he's good in the air. He should play if fit - in the same way that Cox should too. With Fraser looking OK as the midfield stopper this could allow O'C to move to the top of the diamond, where he will be much more creative for us.
