Now that the Falmer result is in and everyone has had their say lets get back to tackling the real issues.

Where would you rather live ? In a multi cultural ethnic city with a high crime rate or down here on the sedate south coast with a much lower crime rate but the big disadvantage of not having that great culturally diverse community that places like Southall, Bermondsey, Moss side and Toxteth have.

My mum's family lived in Bermondsey. It's a great place to live. It's gone downhill, though, since the yuppies moved in. But people say the same about Brighton.

Bermondsey has changed a lot and Millwall selling the old Den is quite a large factor in that. Because of it's proximity to the City is has gone 'Up Market'. Surprisingly Hackney (which I don't care what anybody says) was a dump but that too is going upwards but it does have a very diverse community, more so than most I would say.

Still there's hope for Croydon yet !

Steady ! That'll cause a stir . Actually Brighton is reputed to have a serious drug problem so that would negate your comments as drug use does up the crime rate.

granted , but I live in Worthing, up until I would say 4 years ago there were very few coloured people living here but now there are a lot and crime has increased in the town

read it in the Herald actually about the gangs of blacks around the station. Even had one of my friends mugged by 3 blacks in Homefield park.

I lived in Worthing until last year and I would say that it got progressively more chavlike. Can't say I noticed that many coloured people either but I can say I was more than happy to leave there.

Fact.
Violent crime countrywide went down 2%. Violent crime in Sussex went up 2% in the last twelve months but you are least likely to be burgled in Sussex.
