Worthing
It's probably the other way round with Bernard Manning fans. However, while Bernard deliberately went out of his way to shock and to push the boundaries (or rather certain aspects of society's boundaries changed during his career to exclude him from what was considered acceptable), he is also used by some as a justification for their opinions rather than seeing him as a recruitment officer.

However, there is a difference between 'telling the truth about certain people's failure to integrate in our communities' and wishing wholesale death and misery on an entire race (see 'joke' about air travel above). The fact that he was trying to cover this up with humour doesn't detract from the fact that he specifically zeroed in on certain targets - many of whom have integrated well - and not others, without too much rhyme or reason.

Is my concern about these issues covered by what is meant by the term 'PC'?

Regarding this concept of 'failure to integrate' issue, I wonder if, had he been a contemporary, he would have held an opinion on the British occupation of India and the British failure to integrate...? Just a thought.

I agree the Brits are as bad as many others when it comes to integrating. So if an Indian comedian wants to take the piss about ''The f***ing chip eaters'' from England'' then fair play to him.

I think you are trying to link BM with BNP. .................... Look up joke and then look up vile diatribe. Big difference

I've yet to see the humour in the certain groups who wish, and inflict, death 7 terror on others who do not hold their views.

One, I wish people who use the phrase 'PC' would explain what it means. It seems to be used as a term of abuse, yet doesn't seem to have any value to it. However, seeing as it appears to be directed towards us 'lefties', it is obviously supposed to mean something. I just wish I knew what it was.

I posted a thread a while back "the origin of Political correctness".

Geneology etc.

All you lefties ignored it.
