I think you could probably make one album of a similar quality by combining the best out of the tracks from the other albums.
Had a go at this. Excluding everything from the first three albums and The Masterplan and in a rough order:

The Hindu Times (Heathen Chemistry)
The Shock of the Lightning (Dig Out Your Soul)
The Importance of Being Idle (Don't Believe The Truth)
Gas Panic! (Standing on the Shoulder Of Giants)
Stop Crying Your Heart Out (Heathen Chemistry)
I'm Outta Time (Dig Out Your Soul)
Turn Up The Sun (Don't Believe the Truth)
Where Did It All Go Wrong? (Standing on the Shoulder of Giants)
Soldier On (Dig Out Your Soul)

That was harder than I thought it would be. There's a lot of filler on those albums.

Yes certainly wouldn’t be far off

I always assumed "Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball" to be some sort of drug reference.

ie You feel like you're going incredibly fast/mind is racing fast but you're barely moving in reality. Could be wrong.

I'd throw Little By Little and Let There Be Love in there.

Maybe Lyla? Not a massive fan myself but I gather it's a good live number. Also, I just checked and it turns out it somehow lasts over 5minutes. I have absolutely no idea how.

Exhibit B Your honor

I am going to throw Roll with it into the mix also.

Meaningless I don't mind, some of the greatest lyrics are meaningless but that particular one is meaningless, souless, atmosphereless, painting a pictureless and generally all around shite. It is the worst lyric in a song containing many shit lyrics on an album containing even more (and some quite good ones).
I'd say the line fits in quite well with the general druggy/washed out vibe, but it's all opinions.

I always think Roll With It is shite right up to the moment it comes on and I find myself singing "YOU'VE GOTTA ROLL WITH IT!' at the top of my voice in the car. And then it finishes and I immediatly go back to thinking it's shite.

I go with Definitely Maybe being a seminal album. Morning Glory is really good with glimpses of the mediocre that was to follow.

Exhibit a is 'slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannon ball'
Agree with this. They peaked first LP (it was great) and half an LP later they're already dishing out stuff like She's Electric. Fun while it lasted, and if they're weren't massive twats that the media suck up to they'd have disappeared a lot more quickly.

Enjoy the gig if you got a ticket, you'll be covered in beer (?) before you know it. 95% of the crowd will be there for Wonderwall so I hope they play it (imagine if they didn't 😁).

I was looking forward to seeing Liam touring Definitely Maybe for a reasonable fee. I was also looking forward to more releases by Ride, and with a bit of luck a another tour.

The Oasis reunion has put the knickers on both of these things and I am not going to pay through the nose for a show that will be worse than these two at a big stadium where I won't see them anyway.

No, I’m NOT having that.

They’ll be there for Don’t Look Back in Anger.

Edit: no idea how I ended up quoting Wozza.

Very good. Yet not as many covers as the Beatles who many regard as the greatest band ever 🤔

Sorry 😞 I was merely answering the question.

I’m not a hater of the band, they were one of many I certainly enjoyed during the 90s however as for the “third album” by then my musical tastes were changing and I sort of left them behind with some of the other bands I used to like.

I saw Noel Gallagher at Powderham Castle about 4 years ago and very much enjoyed.

I’m puzzled by the money aspect as I’ve never paid that much for a car let alone a gig.

The wife’s a bigger fan and she tried to get tickets (although possibly FOMO) and had she been successful I would have gone, but I wasn’t disappointed when she was unsuccessful.

I hope everyone that goes has a great time and enjoys a good show.

What about Little James?
Just had to remind myself what it actually sounds like, which is a poor sign.

Also, the title always sounds like a nickname I might give my penis, but that's probably a Me thing.

I'd throw Songbird in as a Liam song. Memorable, pretty, and crucially, short.

As an aside, it always irritated me that Liam's songs with Oasis were often that sort of thing, but he (and his cowriters) always seemed to lean into the big rock stereotypical oasis thing in his solo records. From what I heard, anyway.

I only really associate Oasis with the stuff they released in the 90s, which I thought was amazing - although maybe there’s a lot of nostalgia there for me. I went to university in 1994 and literally half of the bedrooms in my halls had a poster of the Definitely Maybe album cover on the wall by the end of the first week of term.

Fun game!

Here's my effort(in no particular order):

Fuckin in the bushes
Who feels love
Gas Panic
Lets all make believe
Idlers dream
Born on a different cloud
Falling down
Bag it up
The shock of the lightening
I'm outta time
Soldier on

Interestingly I have no songs from Dont believe the truth, which is probably their strongest post 90s album. Whereas I've got three(and a b side) from standing on the shoulder of giants one of their poorer albums imo. I Could have put Sunday morning call or where did it all go wrong on there too but I don't thin any oasis album should have more than two noel sung songs. Which is why i left off The importance of being idle. A good noel song but not as good as idlers dream or falling down.

I'm also willing to swap the shock of the lightening for any of Go let it out, the hindu times or Lyla. Five songs off dig out your soul is probably too many. If Liam hadn't given up singing b sides Full on would definitely be included too. That song would be ferocious with liam snarling his way through it.
