And, as I understand it, some members of the support teams for certain countries won't be allowed to enter the USA. Reason enough to tell Trump to do one but FIFA will roll over and just focus on the money as usual.

Democracy depends on people playing fair and acting in the spirit of the various rulings, laws, and constitutional framework.

There is an understanding.

So when bad actors such as Trump start playing loose with that understanding there seems to be very little in place to stop them.

Because the majority of people play within the rules, they can only wait and hope to vote them out or until the term of power ends.

What effective system is in place to put Trump back in his place or get rid of him?

He just ignores all rulings against him.

But why has he had the invite? Traditionally and historically you only get one. I know Starmer has been sucking up to Trump but the State visit invite is issued by the King. He could make a huge statement, the bigliest, bestliest statement the world has ever seen by withdrawing the invite on behalf of his people.
I really hope Charles has a rethink about this. Does the UK really want to join the motley list of nations who are cozying up to him? It won’t be a good look.

Haven’t yankees been banging on about fighting back if their government turns against them for hundreds of years now?

It’s the most oft used justification by the NRA for Dweight and Cletus Buttfuckle owing military grade weaponry.

Where are they now?

Or is it okay if the government only turns on foreigners and lefty loons?

What the marines and national guard need to do is put down their weapons en masse and leave the city of their own volition.

If news reports are to be believed, the vast majority of them are not happy with their deployment to use force against U.S. citizens.

It would send such a strong message to Trump if they refused to soldier.

I wonder if the assault on Padilla could be a turning point - in one way or another.

Yeah, Trump's option poll drops by a half percent.

How anyone can still support this shit is beyond me. But we'll have @spence and @lasvegan back on here with their mealy mounted excuses at some point. (Well Spence will do a laughing emojis but you get the idea).

Still Sleepy Joe, right?
