how does the "announcment" of this signing work with the comical split transfer window ?

as the window is split :
1-10 june to allow big clubs to get players infor Club world cup , then
16 -june (to allow the parachuting-in of more big names (ronaldo) for knockstages of CWC ) til 1 sept

i bet we will not announce anything til 16th June to meet the "rules"
Think you’re right. I also wouldn’t be surprised at all if it’s already been arranged for Ronaldo to go ‘on loan’ to one of the clubs competing in the CWC mid-tournament to gain some hype for the competition, considering the poor ticket sales and the lengths FIFA went to to ensure Messi would be there.

There were rumours he’d ‘sign’ for Auckland FC, but that seems to have died down now.

According to the Argos (yes I know it's the Argos) he is already at Lancing having his medical ahead of signing for us.

I expect it’ll be announced as soon as the medical is passed. The transfer window doesn’t prevent you from signing players contractually; it just means you can’t transfer registrations until the next window opens.

FWIW i think This is the very first tweet reporting Kostoulas interest by Brighton on April 12th. And our scouts/reps attendance at a match (which ironically he didn't play in) . Says Arsenal were also interested.

(they are quoting reporting by this Greek Journalist https://x.com/Nikos_Kotsis )

I think we have a case of: "it's my post and no one else can disagree with me here, NO ONE. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

Disagree away. And Not sure what you mean there. its just a new (i think) bit of context on a thread about this transfer.
Transfer reporting is incredibly messy - dozens and dozens of outlets - and not much of it has any value . Some of it is deliberately misleading, AI powered or just guesswork but there are a few credible outlets out there doing good work - hence its right to have scepticism.

The one inside Saino's on Lyons farm?

I've driven past the road that leads to the training ground TWICE today and I can confirm that I saw.... nothing of interest whatsover.

We had one, literally about 3 years ago. A big African striker from Switzerland or Austria (?) who was found to have a heart issue, and the transfer collapsed.
I remember that, but in my head it was 2017/18 shortly after promotion. There was an article about how his dream to play in the PL was shattered....

We were unfortunately very right to pass up on him as he sadly passed away whilst playing football aged 28.

If I remember rightly he had collapsed during a match once before, but was determined to carry on playing.

He gave an interview whilst at Zurich where he complained that us failing his medical had limited his opportunities to play football.

It must be a really tough thing to work all your life towards a professional sporting career only to find out your heart isn't up to it just when you're about to make a move to the PL.

In hindsight, he should have quit rather than keep risking his health, but maybe football was the only thing he could imagine doing. All in all a tragic episode. I'm glad Mwepu didn't take the same approach.

He did indeed collapse whilst playing and had a ICD fitted afterwards.

However the article I posted claims he had his ICD removed before his passing. If he was that determined to keep playing then there’s nothing you can do sadly.
