This. In spite of all the players we bought last season, Baleba and Ayari is our best CM pairing. Hinshelwood will have to rely on his versatility to play other positions. Yalvouye might well one to watch, but I'd guess a season on loan in the EFL is likely to be his next step.Yeh, what he does well there, really well, is wait until the keeper's head is down to play the pass, then move away from the full back to centre back to make the intercept. Then a quality finish.
Don't care what midfielders we might be bringing in for the summer, Yasin surely plays
"Hey Malick, welcome back. Great season last year. Winning the Austrian League, playing in the Champions League, winning the league's best newcomer, getting into the team of the season. Amazing stuff. We've got a brilliant next move for your next step: You're off to Middlesbrough!"This. In spite of all the players we bought last season, Baleba and Ayari is our best CM pairing. The way I see the midfield pecking orderThis. In spite of all the players we bought last season, Baleba and Ayari is our best CM pairing. Considering we started Hinshelwood is on his own in midfield, just after coming back from a serious injury, v Forest, it's fair to say "the more, the merrier"The way I see the midfield pecking order
Baleba - plays every game
Ayari - normal first choice to play alongside Baleba
Hinsh - next in line for Ayari's place. Lots of time from the bench and frequently rotated in
Weiffer - Would replace Baleba if injured, but apart from that, looking to forge a career with us at right back
Gomez - Frequent sub, not getting many starts
O'Riley - Well down the order, reliant on injuries, will likely be sold
Milner - Possible we give him a new playing contract. If so, hovering around the squad, may get the occasional 10 minutes at the end
Yalcouye - No idea where he fits in. Keeping him where he is may not be the worst option?
Moroccan lad - If he signs. No idea where he fits in.
Five players for 2 places should be enough
Your point is fair and if the club think it likely that we will continue to be a club who have 8 to 10 injured at any one time, instead of a more typical 3 to 4, then yes we need probably 6 for the 2 spotsConsidering we started Hinshelwood is on his own in midfield, just after coming back from a serious injury, v Forest, it's fair to say "the more, the merrier"

Yep, sounds about right. Like most young players, he'll need to acclimatise to playing in England. Middlesborough might be a bit grim oop north, but there's lots of lovely country and beaches nearby."Hey Malick, welcome back. Great season last year. Yep, looks about right. I'd probably put Hinsh in rather than Wieffer if Baleba gets injured, but I'm pretty much in agreement with your pecking order and analysis. I'd prefer to bring Yalcouye to England though, if he is to go out on loan again. The way I see the midfield pecking order

Agreed, am I alone in wishing that we’d in fact had this squad 2 summers ago?@Nobby Cybergoat I agree that Baleba starts. Looks like Yalcouye will battle Weiffer to back Baleba as DM. I believe Ayari and Gomez will battle for starting CM- each brings the selflessness and intensity that FH demands. That leaves O’Riley as the odd man out. He does not look capable of beating Gruda or Georginio at AM. Hinshelwood is so versatile- RB, WB, CM, ST (!) - FH will find time. We have a squad built for Europe… enough quality loans to create a competitive Championship team.
I think we are going to see a new partner for Baleba. The options youve said are the same as this year and contributed to our defence being under too much pressure at times. It needs to be improved in there and it looks like Bloom sees it that way tooThe way I see the midfield pecking order

I mean, the only other midfielder I can see us being linked to is the Moroccan lad and from his highlight reels, he's not being bought in the relieve the pressure on the defence.I think we are going to see a new partner for Baleba. Wieffer maybe, for sheer physicality. Disagree otherwise thoughAs much as I like Ayari, I'd have all of Hinsh, Wieffer and Gomez ahead of him.
Yep. Was always FH's planWieffer
