Hate to say this, but I've got a bad feeling DT will capitalise on this situation and he will claim his actions are justified

Civil war soon?

All those militias and preppers have been itching for it for decades now.

One spark and the whole lot goes up.

Maybe not…but if it’s going to happen, it’ll be under a Trump administration.
As I see it, it all depends on whether or not the higher military commanders will obey illegal orders to fire on American citizens. Until that order is given and carried out/ignored we won't really know if another Civil War over there is really on the cards or not. I'd like to think that real movers and shakers in the American military have seen Trump's demonstrable disdain for them over the years and will tell him to "Do One" if he ever gives that particular order.

First it was walking the wrong way in the Capitol building (?) & having to be redirected by "Smithers", then it was tripping up the stairs boarding AF1...now this.
If it was Joe Biden doing these things, Trump & Fox News would be SCREAMING from the rooftops about his cognitive decline....

At that start of the clip, it’s a real shame that Trump is obscuring the C, which I’m assuming is on the plane behind him, next to the U,N and not seen by the camera, T.

This is my biggest fear over this, the unquestioning, over zealous fashion with which these agents follow these fascist orders.

This is Berlin 1934.
As someone who did a University degree and a Masters specialising in Nazi Germany, I simply say…yes. It is. Or at least it could be.

Trump invoking the Insurrection Act will be the equivalent to the Enabling Act of 1934. The suspension of democracy with no obvious means of bringing it back. Only once that happens do things start to get really unpleasant. That’s when the mass firings and silencing of the dissenting voices will start. That’s when the crackdown on “the intelligentsia” (higher education, judges, journalists etc) will start. That’s when the en masse rounding up of people without charge will start.

Because what is there to stop him? We know he has no moral compass. We know he’s enabled by lapdogs around the top table. He’s already stacked the Supreme Court, and even if they ignore him they can be “dealt with”. All bets will be off. Only a military intervention would likely be enough to stop him at that point, hence his desperation for the top brass to swear allegiance to him rather than the constitution.

It’s always worth remembering, Nazi Germany didn’t start with Auschwitz. It didn’t start with territorial expansion. It started with consolidating power at the top with no means of challenging it. Once you have that, you can basically do whatever the hell you fancy, because nobody can stop you. You don’t have to setup extermination camps and invade France, you can divert 10% of the national gold reserve into your own bank account. You can build a 150ft statue of yourself in every major city. You can rename Washington “Trump City”. Because who would stop you?

If I were King Charles, I’d be considering how I could offer the Obama family asylum over here, because Trump will come for them. And the Bidens. And the Clintons. And Nancy Pelosi. And Kamala Harris. And Bernie Sanders. And AOC. And the rest.

Interesting you will not see immigrants be rounded up in red states. You only whip up violence in blue states, the politicise it when it all goes to shit

I need to cross the border next weekend as I have a NEXUS appointment down in Washington (it's a program for expedited border crossings between USA/Canada, and no need for a Visa) - interested to see what the crossing is like, and what questions we are asked

"We made a great decision in sending the National Guard to deal with the violent, instigated riots in California," Trump writes on Truth Social. "If we had not done so, Los Angeles would have been completely obliterated."

Fukk me. Parts of Gaza and Ukraine have been obliterated. Whilst I have some respect for South Central's finest, no way could they obliterate LA in 48 hours.

He needs euthanising.

From Sky News

"The US military will deploy around 700 marines to Los Angeles as additional National Guard troops also arrive in the city, a US official has told Reuters news agency."

Deploying troops against civilians never, ever ends well

You know, for a country that bangs on about having guns to defend themselves from a tyrannical government, they sure are quiet.
Yep the NRA having been banging on about this situation for decades, yet are silent.

Weird.
