Worthing
Trump is deliberately destabilising the country to impose a state on emergency. His agenda is clear
Yep. State of Emergency = suspend democracy. No need for mid term elections and potentially no need for a presidential election in 3 years.

Cant remember which outlet I saw it on last night - but theres a video doing the rounds where an immigrant is in court at his application hearing - which was denied.

As he walks out of the courtroom, he is wrestled to the floor violently by ICE agents that were waiting for him. He was simply leaving court, hadn't even got out the building, and wasn't trying to escape etc.

Absolutely no reason for the rough handling he was taking - its absolutely shocking what is going on.
Similarly, places of employment are being raided by ICE, but in at least one raid, they grabbed someone who is legal, but took him anyway.
It’s almost as if they are being paid by the number.

Once he has claimed these powers there is no way he is ever giving them back.
It is saddening to see the glee as men with guns and uniforms leap into action.
And anyone who objects is a woke antifa socialist.

This is my biggest fear over this, the unquestioning, over zealous fashion with which these agents follow these fascist orders.

This is Berlin 1934.

Australian reporter shot while covering the unrest in LA. Looks deliberate as you see the officer turn and direct fire in her direction.
WTF is going on? o_O

Trumps actions have done nothing but inflame the situation over the weekend. Protests were largely peaceful before he sent in the troops - and it has just caused absolute chaos across the city. Heartbreaking to see, but makes me so F*****G mad that hes destroying everything in his path. Literally.

That's awful, but completely unsurprising.

Speaking of reporters, I see Terry Moran, the ABC guy who interviewed Trump a while back in that car-crash session, has been suspended for speaking out online about Stephen Miller and, to a lesser extent, Trump. A classic case of everyone being entitled to an opinion, as long as its one that the people in charge agree with.

The funny thing is, I found out about this case of 'biased journalism' from a clip from Fox News. FOX facking NEWS! That wholly objective broadcaster :lolol:

This is the thing. People comforting themselves by thinking “this isn’t like the Nazis. Nazis did this differently and that isn’t quite the same and they haven’t done this yet so it’s not like the Nazis at all”

And that train of thought continues until it’s too late.

I’m not suggesting this will end up in a Holocaust or WW3.

What I am saying is that with the foundations being laid now, anything could happen. It’s all about Trump gaining absolute power. And history teaches us that never goes well.

Awful - exactly like round ups by military dictatorships in South America in the 1970s;

  • Operation Condor (1975-1983):
This coordinated effort by military dictatorships in Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Paraguay involved rounding up and eliminating opposition figures, including those in exile. It aimed to silence dissent and create a climate of fear.

  • Chile (1973):
Following the military coup that overthrew President Salvador Allende, the new government, led by Augusto Pinochet, initiated widespread arrests and detentions. Thousands of people, including students, workers, and political activists, were rounded up and imprisoned, with many being tortured or killed. Santiago's National Stadium was used as a mass detention center.

  • Argentina (1974-1983):
The "Dirty War" involved the military regime systematically hunting down and eliminating political dissidents, often targeting left-wing Peronists, Montoneros, and those suspected of socialist sympathies. This involved state-sponsored terrorism, with death squads and paramilitary groups playing a key role.

  • Uruguay:
Following the 1973 coup, Uruguay also experienced a period of intense repression, with the military rounding up and imprisoning political dissidents and those deemed left-leaning.

  • Brazil:
Brazil experienced a military dictatorship from 1964 to 1985, during which there were numerous arrests, detentions, and disappearances of political opponents.

  • Cold War Context:
The Cold War and the global struggle between communism and capitalism fueled the rise of military dictatorships in South America. The United States, in its efforts to counter communism, provided support to these regimes, often contributing to their ability to repress opposition.
Impact and Legacy:
  • Human Rights Abuses:
These "round-ups" and other forms of state terrorism resulted in the deaths, disappearances, and imprisonment of thousands of people.
  • Social and Political Polarization:
The period of repression and violence deepened social and political divisions in South American countries, contributing to long-term political instability and societal trauma.
  • Long-Term Consequences:
The human rights abuses of the 1970s have continued to have lasting consequences, including efforts to bring perpetrators to justice, reparations for victims, and ongoing debates about the nature of the state's involvement in these atrocities.

Civil war soon?

All those militias and preppers have been itching for it for decades now.

One spark and the whole lot goes up.

Maybe not…but if it’s going to happen, it’ll be under a Trump administration.
