[Albion] Hurzeler is statistically our best Premier League manager

Posted my comments on the dedicated Fabian Hürzeler thread and hope others will too - he deserves that after all the negativity from fans this season - but yes, good first season and impressive stats for a first time PL manager.

So in RDZ's best season he would have had us on 58pts and not qualified for anything in Europe if in charge for the full season.
But he had a fiery personality so people think he is better.
RDZ got 2 points from his first 5 games. If he’d had pre-season he’d probably have had a much better start.

I don't think the point of this is to denigrate RDZ or claim Fab is better (yet), or any such micro analysis when there are many other factors under the hood.

No, the point of this is simply to call out all the people who wanted Fab sacked at some point this season as the silly know-nothings they are

True. RDZ picked up the reins after GP had already got us off to a flying start. FH has done it all himself this year. Impressive.
This is correct. If RDZ's points per game ratio had been reflected across the season we reached Europe we would have ended in 9th.

I still can't believe RDZ is so highly rated amongst our fans, when it's quite clear the stroppy Italian just rode the wave of the fantastic squad that Potter built.
His record in that one good season was in par with Hurzeler. The difference is he said crazy things and jumped about. People get blinded by that a bit too much.

They are both extremely good managers, as was Potter.

Although you're forgetting we were denied a potential 13 points that season under RDZ due to blatantly incorrect ref/VAR decisions, including the Spurs debacle among others. We should by rights have finished at least 5th, probably 4th (yes, I'm still bitter).

That hasn't happened this season.

I just don't get why RDZ is mentioned in such high esteem compared with potter and Hurzeler when they are all pretty similar.
6th place probably, and improving the playing style mid-season, far harder than starting during preseason.

But, you are right, they are all good managers in their own right.
