All this talk of this being a transitional season will look pretty daft if we sell Mitoma AND Pedro over the summer, we can't honestly expect any kind of improvement if we're selling two of our best players every season and replacing them with more kids.
This is our problem. We are forever going to be in transition under the current "model". Especially with all the loans and a few new players to fit in again.

I would disagree with that - can't speak about 'The Brighton Place' as I know nothing about that account but the Brighton Bubble account absolutely offers something to Albion fans (who are interested in gossip/rumour/reports about Albion). They wouldn't have 32,500 followers if they didn't.

I honestly can't see why people have anything against such an account - it's not as they they are making stuff up themselves, merely reporting stuff that gets reported elsewhere.

(Just to be clear, I have no particular interest in the Brighton Bubble account, and don't even follow it myself, but they absolutely provide a service to literally thousands of other Albion fans).

Agree with the general point but Brighton Bubble used to engagement bait quite a lot, especially with Chelsea fans.

When they aren’t doing that they do a great job. They come across as a monumental nerd/loser when they start acting like a knobhead though

Well we haven’t been every season and won’t be forever, we have peaks and troughs over a long term upward trajectory.

BUT even so, better to be in ‘transition’ and a top 10 Club pushing for Europa/Conference than a Big 6 Club facing points deductions/competition charges/expulsion; Or a Big 6 Club playing so badly, they’re just above the drop zone; Or one that’s being bled dry by its owners and is in utter shambles; Or one that’s saddled itself with expensive players on very long contracts that are underperforming/depreciating and will have trouble selling.

I don’t think we do too badly in a very competitive field.

Nope. But a lot harder to win a cup if your priority is buying players to sell over buying players to win something

Correct - some folk just love complaining without a single realistic alternative to keeping the club sustainable.

I expect that we’ve agreed a cheaper deal if a CL team come in for him but I’d hope for more than £40m. However, age and contract length also come into play.
We did only pay £2.5m for Karou.
Contract length is 2 years ffs

That’s what I mean. He’s 28 and only has 2? Years left. Therefore £40/45m isn’t ridiculous and I expect his contract extension was based on us not standing oin his way if a CL club comes calling.
Proven EPL and international player at his prime with 2 years left of his contract doesn't equate to 45M

I think the club will want to do right by Mitoma, who's been a model professional. If he'd like to have a crack at winning titles and competing in the Champions League (and why wouldn't he) then we won't play hardball over the fee in the way we did with Caicedo. We'll still negotiate the best price we can but we won't risk keeping a disappointed player on our books.

If he does go to Bayern it would at least more palatable for us than seeing him at another PL club.
