Very good, detailed article 👍.
I noticed in particular this bit:
"Merz, the first chancellor to have served in the Bundeswehr, said: “We stand firmly by Ukraine but we also stand together as Europeans as a whole and we play, whenever possible, as a team with the US.”

'whenever possible ', a commitment, hopefully, that Europe will 100,% stand together even if the US is not there.
Perhaps Merz is leaving the door open for Trump in the future 'whenever possible', but giving a nod to Putin, the fact that Trump won't be there forever.

Well....it sounds good, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Not being anything approaching an expert in US politics, I have no idea whether this is a done deal, or if Trump could veto it.

I read (?) somewhere that Trump 'has' to support it or it won't get put before the House. May not be true, but seeing as they're all scared of him.
I also read that he MAY have asked Graham to prep it, then, if it goes through, he can say to Vlad it was nothing to do with him....🤷🏼‍♂️

All former Soviet states need to agree to attack Russia at the same time.
Yes, something I have been thinking as it obviously means Putin is maybe invading them. There are 14 of them, including Ukraine, although some have governments under Russian control.

And Trump wants mutually beneficial trade deals with these guys - go and live there, Trump, Vance, Musk...enjoy
Except they will be rich & feeding Putin more wealth so not a problem for them, it's normal people like me & thee who suffer such as your wife's family. If the three you mention had even an ounce of humanity they would be doing everything in their power to stop Putin instead of licking his arse.

Very true, they have little or zero visible humanity.

I imagine the Ukrainian POWs are very happy, but the Russians less so.
The Russian returning POWs are likely to be put straight back on the front line, with crap food rations (but probably decent drug supplies).

The difference between civilised armies and uncivilised armies run by ***** is that the Russian POWs will be seen as
"losers" and sent back to the line with the worst positions - the Ukranian POWs, on the other hand, will be seen as heroes
- and rightly so.

The Russian army high command are cowardly scum, plain and simple.
