Well, judging by how the team reacted at Wolves, and last night, it may be the right time to say goodbye to Pedro. He's a class player, and his penalties are amazing, but Gruda proved yesterday what a decent no. 10 he is.....and even O'Reilly had a decent game when he came on in that position.

Plus we have Enciso, Buonanotte, Howell and Rutter who can all play as a 10

IF he's sulking, wants away, or taking duff advice from his agent, then who in charge of the 'no dickhead policy'? Aren't we supposed to have all the data on this sorta thing. I mean Cucurella, Caicedo, Pedro, Trossard, Sanchez, Andone and Undav all throwing strops and wanting out within their first year or two.

Is this because we are known as a selling club, so if they don't get their move when they want it, they become difficult. I don't recall other similar size clubs having the same issue with players.

Like I say, could be nothing in this but we do have a history of being victims to this sort of behaviour.
It’s a total PR myth, no club has that policy. No club can afford to build a team on choirboys and middle manager trainees

Annoying, as any hint of poor behaviour will lead to speculation that (a) he's unsettled and (b) he's a bit of a tool, which will negatively impact the transfer fee others are prepared to pay for him.

(I know it didn't negatively affect Caicedo's but that's because he was top class and Chelsea were desperate).

Must be quite serious if this happened in the lead up to the Wolves game and it’s still an ongoing issue. You’d like to think it would be nipped in the bud and all done and dusted by now.

For the player to be kept away and not considered for selection over a week later I suspect means there is every chance he’s either leaving or the club have suspended him pending further investigation / consequences.

Or he was always going to miss one game as a punishment and it couldn’t be Wolves because he was suspended for that match anyway.

No problem if he's played his last game for us - the ending won't be remembered, but his performances and goals in the Europa League will be.

The only thing preventing him being remembered as a legend is that he was only here for 2 years, but we're going to turn a huge profit on him and he'll have an excellent career. A fantastic transfer for all involved and another really positive example to use when trying to convince a young talent to trust us to propel his career to the top.

All the best, JP, and thanks for the goals.

He’s a million miles away from Albion legend status, for all sorts of reasons. That’s the rarified air of Dunk, Solly, Gross and others.

Although it is rare, sometimes a player does miss a match (or a few) for "personal reasons" which are 100% genuine. I know we typically assume that there has been a bust-up or internal discipline issue, or player has downed tools trying to force a move, and usually something is going on.

For example, Khadija "Bunny" Shaw (Man City and Jamaican forward), missed Man City's League Cup semi v Arsenal for "personal reasons". It transpired that she had withdrawn for mental health reasons having suffered horrendous racist and misgynistic abuse

There was a NI player I think who missed an international game because his gran died. Only that was the third time his gran died and this came out and he was getting stick. Turned out his partner had had a miscarriage so he wanted to stay with her but didn’t quite fancy sharing this with the media so made up the dead gran story.

My point is players can all sorts going on in their personal lives and it’s not our right to always know. Who in here hasn’t had a sub par day at work after some trouble at home? You don’t then have to explain to all of your customers why you had an off day.

I realise that since the post I’m quoting it’s come out that a bust up with JPVH occurred (perhaps over who’s the real JP!) and a lot of the above might not apply to Pedro.
