[Albion] Reasons why Palace winning is fantastic news!

This is bordering on obsession now. I don't think Crystal Palace supporters care half as much about us as some do them. The whole rivalry thing, any rivalry, when beyond pantomime is based in need for personal validation. In other words, needy.

Crystal Palace won the FA Cup. Folk just need to move on to things that really matter- because it really doesn't matter.
Most don't but a few do 🤭

I know quite a few Palace supporters.
They really aren't bothered about Brighton.
Any Brighton supporter under the age of 25, maybe 30, who has a thing about Palace,
is simply learning nonsense from their elders in the way million learn about religion from their nan.
I'm too old to be bothered about Palace, and found the emergence of a rivalry
in the 70s to be rather silly.
It was much more spicy when the likes of Spuds made an occasional visit to the Goldstone.
And Millwall, of course, with their J cloth masks.
The Palace thing was like cosplay hooliganism for two lower ranked, not well-supported clubs.

Anyway, I always thought fighting and pretend fighting at football was pathetic,
lads whose dads beat them, having vicarious revenge?

Take all that away . . . . . yes, we have something to strive to emulate, now. A trophy.
Maybe we needed that to knock us out of our state of smug superiority,
with our lovely stadium, better owner, nicer pies, monorail etc.
Ambition is what football's all about.
And let's not forget,
Nobody grew taller or richer on bragging rights.
Nobody cured their depression with bragging rights.
Nobody became more of a man due to bragging rights.
If Brighton win the cup, my reaction won't be "phew, thank goodness we have put those bragging rights to bed",
I can sleep easily now I know that we are no longer second best to Palace. And Wigan. And....

I am sure someone will be along shortly to tell me I don't understand football. :lolol:
I don't give a f*** about that :lolol:
Nah I'm pretty much the same.
I actually enjoyed it when they beat Liverpool in the semi final all those years ago.
It was just the trolls on here like Dougie and SE20 that made it intolerable on here but thankfully they were both banned eventually.

Have always since the late 70s had a dislike for Palace as I was bought into it since a kid. Its still there now (as our rivals) and being similar sized clubs too. I also dislike Villa as much purely as I work amongst them. The Chelsea thing is because of the backroom staff exodus. Although we have 19 rivals in Premier league, Palace is the main 1 for me.

No all their players will stay, because they actually attempt to keep them instead of this ”everyone has their price” bollocks. Great we’re the most profitable club in the country, but they’ve won a major trophy. There needs to be a big mentality shift at this club if we are going to achieve these sort of things.

Why did Michael Olise leave, then?

Because he had a release clause, Palace if they don’t have to (which I expect they won’t) will not have mass departures in the summer, and their best players will stay for their European campaign. Unlike ours who will go to the highest bidder (Caicedo, Mac Allister).

Guehi has 12 months left on his contract and so is sure to go.
Wharton and Eze have longer but could go if a big team come in for them.

Caicedo and Mac Allister left the Albion some time ago.

I'd love to be able to share your disdain for our club and it's inept recruitment and retention rubric,
and your admiration for Crystal Palace.

But I can't

What on Earth are you talking about? Yes Mac Allister left Brighton some time ago, not sure how that’s relevant at all.

It was you who brought up Mac Allister, not me.

I simply don't share your negativity and your apparent disapproval of the way the club is run

They just have a whole host of pacier players than us
They are very good on the counter attack, with players rather different from ours.
In that respect they remind me a bit of Everton under Dyche.
We all remember what they did to us at the Amex not so long ago

In the recent interview it sounds like Fab would like to see bigger stronger faster players at our club.
We shall see.....

I know you're likely half joking but the saltiness of a lot of the comments on here since last night are pretty laughable really - at the end of the day they've got big bragging rights over us for the time being; who knows what will happen moving forward in terms of the fortunes of both clubs but they've earned their moment in the sun (albeit with a big slice of luck, but if it were us would we give a f***? Of course we wouldn't). Fair play to them - no sour grapes from. It's life, shit happens.
You’re more magnanimous than me, I think they’re a bunch of …….

Absolutely, despise them…….

Thank you @Tony Towner's Toe though…..

Edit - the only thing I’ll admit is that I wish Eze played for us…l.
