That looked obvious when they splashed a load of cash in January - think they’ll have transfer window embargoesI wouldn't mind betting that City already know what the punishment will be but have threatened the Premier League with expensive litigation if it's announced before the end or season or they have negotiated the punishment down.
And losing to 9 men.Not happening
And also *definitely* not happening, this season anyway.
We had an incredible chance of achieving European football, in a season where two of the ‘Big Six’ were unbelievably bad, something very unlikely to happen again, and we completely and utterly blew it.
That’s where drawing 1-1 at home to the second worst team in Premier League history, and blowing TWO two goal leads after the 85th minute, gets you.
Well arguably their two best players are ex BrightonSo to be clear . We now are supporting Chelsea to win a trophy
One distant day, there may be a verdict. But without – yet – any resulting punishment. (Like someone being found guilty in court, but having to wait for a later sentencing hearing).I wouldn't mind betting that City already know what the punishment will be but have threatened the Premier League with expensive litigation if it's announced before the end or season or they have negotiated the punishment down.
It’s a shame, to me, that there are quite a few posters who hold the same view.Primary aim of the club is making profit from players.
God this sort of comment depresses me. Imagine being Bloom and reading that after putting 100s of millions into the club, getting the team to the PL, getting them into Europe, establishing the club in the top 10 teams in the country and continuing to invest millions into ground improvements. It's so damned ungrateful - I'd be tempted to recoup my money, sell to a dodgy investment firm and say, 'Go on then - YOU run the club, let's see how you find a model that keeps the club moving forward sustainably whilst achieving the success we have'.We do not deserve Europe. Primary aim of the club is making profit from players.
I’m not sure how some fans having a bit of perspective about the club’s past and present could possibly be holding us back. The fanbases sense of 'oh, at least we aren't still at Priestfield/Withdean' is one we really need to collectively get over if we are ever to achieve anything of note IMO. If f***ing Palace can win silverware, it isn't beyond our reach.
Apparently so, the same trophy many on here labelled Micky Mouse yet now we all want a piece of, roll on the end of the season an the unveiling of the inevitable shit 25/26 kit offerings…..So to be clear . We now are supporting Chelsea to win a trophy
I’m still not convinced I’m right. UEFA’s regulations are written in finest lawyer speak. For all I know, it might depend what colour socks Enzo Maresca wears at the Conference League final. Thanks for trying to explain. Its still a bit complicated tbh. I have twice read there are some scenarios where 10 English clubs could qualify? tbough all the caveats are confusing.
Just in your point 2 about UECL allocation being reduced by 1 to zero?
Newcastle won it by winning Carabao, and because they'll definitely finish in a higher completion league place, that went to next in league. Still don't quite get how that can just vanish as it was Newcastles and then next in league as Newcastle are going to be CL or UEL?
We probably won't finish 8th anyway so academic!

Race for Europe: How things stand, permutations and remaining fixtures
All you need to know as Premier League clubs try to secure UEFA Champions League, Europa League or Conference League footballwww.premierleague.com
If Chelsea win UECL and finish 7th in PL it goes to 8th.
Chelsea last game of season is away at Forest. If Forest don't beat West Ham tomorrow and lose or even draw (with their inferior GD v Chelsea) it can't happen.
Forest must win later today at West Ham and then beat Chelsea in last game at home. If Forest win both games, then higher liklihood Chelsea may finish 7th. Villa would need a win or draw at Old Trafford and City 1 point from 2 games.
Forest winning twice is key.
Most clubs aim is to make profit from players to reinvest, outside the top 4/5 clubs in the world every club is a selling clubAnd losing to 9 men.
We do not deserve Europe. Primary aim of the club is making profit from players.
And it’s why Cucurella’s goal on Friday was bloody annoying as Chelsea finishing 7th looked a strong possibility at 0-0.So to be clear . We now are supporting Chelsea to win a trophy
Why is there no mention of the league cup winners getting conference league in the original allocation section? Wasn’t that the case at the start of the season? As I’ve mentioned many times, the most reliable person in these scenarios is Dale Johnson from ESPN. If Newcastle finish in the top 5, and Chelsea 6th (and win UECL) he says there is no Conference League spot.
If Chelsea finish 7th and win UECL, 8th is Conference League as follows… This has been updated since the FA Cup Final. EPS is the extra Champions League place English football received from clubs’ performances.
How Chelsea could get eighth place into Europe by league position
For clubs hovering around eighth in the table, the performance of Chelsea is now their only chance of playing in Europe next season. They are the only team who could win a European title and finish in a position to cause this drop down.
We need to assume Newcastle United have finished inside the top six.
This is the allocation before the EPS:
Champions League: 1-4, Man United/Tottenham as UEL winners
Europa League: 5, Crystal Palace as FA Cup winners
Conference League: 6
Chelsea finish seventh and win the Conference League final. Chelsea would play in the Europa League, and the Premier League would have 10 teams in Europe.
Champions League: 1-4, Man United/Tottenham as UEL winners
Europa League: 5, Crystal Palace as FA Cup winners, Chelsea as UCoL winners (7)
Conference League: 6
Add the EPS, and everything moves down one place -- but the Conference League spot for 6th position jumps over Chelsea and is given to eighth.
Champions League: 1-5, Man United/Tottenham as UEL winners
Europa League: 6, Chelsea as UCoL winners (7)
Conference League: 8
It’s all accounted for in the very long full article. That’s just the relevant bit. It’s why he’s mentioned assuming a top 6 finish for Newcastle (so their Conference League places passes down). Why is there no mention of the league cup winners getting conference league in the original allocation section? Indeed. It's absolutely pathetic.God this sort of comment depresses me. Imagine being Bloom and reading that after putting 100s of millions into the club, getting the team to the PL, getting them into Europe, establishing the club in the top 10 teams in the country and continuing to invest millions into ground improvements. Yes. I don’t really get into ‘why’ too much. If you look at the actual UEFA regulations, they are unfathomable. I know a few football statisticians and they sometimes check with this guy when it gets very complex. Other websites often miss the nuances. If he’s wrong, chances are another statistician would have corrected him by now so it’s as solid a source as you’ll get.I think I’ve found the article. My brain hurts

How Crystal Palace's FA Cup final win impacts European places in the Premier League
The Premier League season is edging toward its climax, but how can clubs qualify for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League?www.espn.co.uk
I think the best approach is to assume we have nothing and then if there is a slim chance of anything going into the last game then get our hopes up again then.
