Congratulations to Palace. They've done something that we will never do in my lifetime.

Glasner is a very good coach. Arsenal really should poach him.

Why not? Palace fans would've said the same in terms of never winning a cup till today. No reason why we can't in the future.

Glasner is a good coach yes, but for all the crowing over him and palace lately, they'll still likely finish bottom half of the table, and won the cup with a huge slice of luck albeit being very disciplined in their approach.

Having said that, fair play to them. Silver lining for me is that it's City they beat, who as a club epitomise everything that's wrong about modern football.

Glasner will get poached, as will their best players. They have a small squad so a few injuries and Europe next season and they will really struggle.
City were terrible but had no luck and Henderson should have been sent off. Attwell as ref and Gillet on VAR is a disgrace. Why did they use the worst refs for the final who didn’t have the balls to send Henderson off.
Attwell and Gillett was a match made in hell. Absolutely no way they would make the correct decision and send Henderson off. Whether it's incompetence or corruption I don't know.

Despite European commitments and losing the odd player, in all probability they'll comfortably stay up just like we did.
Even having sold Olise, they've more than coped.
As much as we'd like to think differently, they won't collapse.

There must be a part of TB that is thinking f***. We were streets ahead of them 18 months ago. Suddenly they are infinitely ahead of us.
Infinitely? 🤣 they're below us in the league and got two more round further than us in the cup (we had a bloody tough run in the cup up to the quarters, too). Come on.

Christ it's like the end of the world on here... life's too short ffs - it's only a game we have no control over as fans; get out and enjoy the evening sunshine

Exactly. We played two of the top 4 in prem in fa cup and the side who are now 6 or 7 but were 3rd when we played them. We lost on pens and sels made a crazy save. Fine margins.

Palace got a bye to quarter finals and did well vs Fulham and then a Villa side still reeling from last min defeat. All the luck in the world in the final.

Fine margins.

A lot will depend on the personnel Palace keep hold of. Think Eze must go to a really big club. Wharton is in demand and Guehi must be on some bigger clubs radar. Can really see Leverkusen or another big European club going for Glasner? They have Europa league games to deal with next season. OK they've won the cup. So have Wigan, so have Portsmouth, so have Wimbledon, all in recent times, all now languishing somewhere in the bowels of the EFL.

Really hope we go for it last 2 games. Onwards and upwards.

And in case anyone thinks I am being happy clappy, I am pretty distraught at this moment in time!!

Get a grip anyone who is feeling sorry for themselves. There hasn’t been much difference between Albion and Palace since we got back into the second tier aka Championship. They got promoted to the Premier League, then we got into Europe first and now they have won a major trophy first (albeit not what it was after we got to the Cup Final first in 1983).

Despite what the more bitter fans on both sides of the decades long rivalry the success of either club is not dependent on the relative success of the other but who knows maybe we will be the first out of us to qualify for the Champions League. Anyway next season the memory of today will be in the rear mirror as our promising young team strives to improve on this season.

Nothing to see here  . Only in English football can the VAR/ref team make yet another match changing blunder.

It is called being passionate and caring about our success, our biggest RIVAL has just beat us to the FA Cup AND stopped us from getting Europe, I feel like the play off semi nights right now. So let us be pissed off if we want to ffs!!!

Palace win tbe cup

NSC: This is Fabs fault as well

Also NSC: it wouldn't have happened under RDZ

Never change NSC. 🤣🤣
I’ll tell you who it would genuinely never have happened under. Chris Hughton.

That absolute madman would have torn Wembley apart brick-by-brick with his bare hands before letting it happen.

How do you quantify that though?

They won an FA cup with a piss easy draw for 3 rounds, then 2 winnable games against PL oppo to make the final, then bus parking for whole final where every decision went their way.

They do have a good manager and some good players for sure, but its always been the Palace way to pay massive over inflated wages, often to aging players, hardly revolutionary. They now have an academy, but still no decent training ground, for all their plans to redevelop that ramshackle shithole, they havent.

Bloom has paid for all the infrastructure already and our model has bought in huge revenues for low priced acquisitions while still being top half and pushing for Europe.

We have been consistently better than them for most of this season and in this competition we've had to beat Norwich away Chelsea home and Newcastle away, while in same rounds Palace had Stockport at home, Donacaster away and Millwall at home.

Its their name on the cup, it grates, but dont get carried away. They're a slightly slicker version of a Dyche bus parking team, who have had a helluva lot of luck in this years FA cup.
I agree with what you are saying regarding their style BUT they have a major trophy to their name and we have nothing. They have matched our European tour AND have the opportunity to add more silverware with a community shield too.

I've seen videos of Palace fans already singing 'have you ever seen Brighton win a cup'. This is what we are going to have to deal with...finishing 9th over 12th is marginal in terms of success IMO.

Not often I agree with Wayne..but there’s always this

"Erling Haaland is about to knock it around him and Dean Henderson sweeps the ball away.

"It is a red card - how can they get this wrong?"

After hearing the VAR reaction, Rooney added: "Just get rid of VAR.

"They have made a mistake and now they are trying to cover up. It is a red card and everyone can see it's a red card.

"To come out with all this rubbish..."

Never going to be remembered as a classic cup final , more like a replay of Wimbledon vs Liverpool 1988. Even down to the penalty save. Not forgetting both winners play or played at crap stadiums in South London. Maybe Milton Keynes Palace is not too far away
