I found Fab's comment very noteworthy about the need for the squad to have more physicality next season.

Which then made me think who might be most vulnerable to a move down the pecking order.
Lamptey, Cashin, Ayari, O'Riley?
Yeh, let's have a team of big strong boys - after all, George Graham's Arsenal were pretty exciting to watch, weren't they?

..........................oh.

I mean, it's a nice conversation, at best.

But it's a little bit cringe-worthy. Two dinosaurs of the game, who have never managed at this level, giving advice to a modern manager who is already playing a high standard of football than these have ever managed at.

I love Mark McGhee and Micky Adams for what they did here - but they are not really in the position to give Fab advice over anything.
Good job he didn't ask for their opinions on anything, then.

Oh...

3. How the f*** did this even come about?! Are we literally digging up anyone who's had any connection to our club ever (apart from he who must never be mentioned Gus Poyet) and inviting them back to some kind of gainful/ambassadorial appointment? Is there no end to our gravy train?!
McGhee and Adams were both at the club to honour Dick Knight in the end of season awards, so presumably a spin-off from that.

And may I add until about December I thought he was shite. Proving he was worth the money game by game.
It’s quite possible he might be somewhere in between? Genuinely baffled at best player against Newcastle, he couldn’t cope with Newcastle’s wingers who were constantly skinning him on the outside. We would have been down to 10 if he’d stayed on the pitch a couple of more minutes, he was targeted and found out

To be fair, he was playing out of position because he absolutely isn’t a right back and we never signed him to play full back. Agree that he was fortunate to stay on the pitch after that ‘second bookable tackle’ but good management from FH to sub him straight away.

Lamptey, Cashin, Ayari, O'Riley?
Cashin has the physicality, just not the ability or any pace.

I don't get all the "FH has no charisma, he's so wooden" stuff. I think he comes across really well. I've warmed to him a lot recently, and it's so clear why Bloom and Barber want to work with someone like him rather than an RDZ type.

Re the physicality issue, this would suggest that the Diego Coppola rumour has some credence as he looks a unit.
You can also see why Tariq doesn't have a new contract.

That was a really interesting discussion, something a bit different from the Albion.

Perhaps they could do it with players as well: Zamora and Murray discussing forward play with Welbeck, for example.

As a student of the game, I think Fab would disagree with that.

Was bloody delighted to hear Fab say Physicality, you need it all over the pitch, we are far too nice as a side.

That comment spells the end of Adingra and Facundo for me, plus a few others.

Just far enough away from LDC
What McGhee said about man management and getting to know players is relevant an any club at any period of time
Adams played, coached and managed in the epl and got a team promoted to the epl.

Yes it's a long time ago and yes he is now a dinosaur but it's harsh to say he doesn't have an insight and same with mcghee who has played, managed and coached in European comps

Yes

The physicality point the main takeaway from that.

Expect strapping 6 footers with terrifying upper body strength and lungs the size of rugby balls to sign in the summer.

Lovely...

I have changed my mind on that recently, he seems to be relaxing now.

I find it impossible to dislike Fab and in a way I absolutely respect his openness and honesty while at same time being slightly unnerved by his own admission about how much he is still on such a steep learning curve this year... eg game management wasn't in his kitbag until he learned about it in the epl😬. Showing my age maybe but if I was Tony interviewing the 3 of them today, I reckon Mcghee would have it in the bag. Probably lucky I'm not that Tony.
