Had Webby stayed clear of injury, he'd be at a CL club and likely regarded as England's best centre back.

And although he does get injured, he's not getting Milner/Kadioglu season at a time injuries. He's normally fit for a month, then injured for a month. But as has been said, he's slotting back in much better than he used to.

I'd love to see us tie him down to a longer deal. If we can continue to get 20 games per season out of him for another 3 years, that would be acceptable. And who knows, we may see some sort of Welbeck style late career run of games

He's worth it just for the "content" on the club site.

He's also a very Big Personality without being a Milner/Lallana "mentality monster" type .
Worth his weight in gold in the dressing room I'm sure.

Au contraire - we know that he is contracted until June 2026 and that we DO have the option for another year on top of that (well, that is if we believe Jack Rosser, and I know of no reason not to):-

Why would he want to step down? Surely West Ham can't offer him that much more money?

"I was saying to my wife the other day that I love the fact I've been here for such a long time now."

"In football, it's not that common anymore. There are a few boys here that have been here for a while, but if you look at most clubs, then there aren't a lot of players.

"So I love that about this club. I love it here and I feel like we have got so much more to achieve together.

"Personally, I'm close to 150 appearances but I want to get a lot more than that. I obviously look at the likes of Lewis Dunk, who has made a lot of appearances here, and it is motivation for me.

"I want to try and achieve that."

That’s great to know Bozza but this is an Adam Webster thread

Gotta love being a premier league player. Get paid millions, turn up for half the games.... Tell the club you love them (as most of our players can't hide their desire to join a top 6 team!), fans will be kissing your feet and baying for the club to chuck more millions at you.

If only other jobs were like this !!

Not begrudging webbo though, been great this season. No better than usual but I think he just looks a lot better because dunk has detiorated so much and Igor and cashin aren't really good enough.

Seems a lot of people on here are either camp Webster or camp Dunk. You can be both!
Too right.

It's quite possible to appreciate the contribution they both bring and to come down to a choice of who you would select if you were the manager, without having to confect negatives about the other one

Given the injuries they had, i'm glad we have both.

I think it's only because that's the position up for grabs. I feel like JPVH is the stand out CB for the Albion now, so it's between Dunk and Webster (and Igor) for the 2nd berth.

Personally, I love both of them and am happy whichever one plays

But it's been about 6 months since they've both been fit at the same time

True, I'm just saying that the argument is more or a "When fit, who gets that berth" rather than "are you Team Webster or Team Dunk, whoever wins, the other is rubbish".

As you say though, it's been a moot point for most of the season but since when does that get in the way of an NSC hypothetical?

You seen it with any selection debate. I prefer player A to be in the team to player B. So make my point, i'm going to denigrate player B. This sort of thing I expect. In life there are morons of the internet age who communicate like this. I can't expect NSC to be exempt.

But when player B happens to be Lewis Dunk with his incredible record of service and his incredible levels of performance over a long period of time, I admit I am surprised. I know they are internet morons, but even though they are morons, can they not stop just for one moment to consider just how disrespectful some of the content they are about to post is?

I kind of expect that if for example, they didn't like Planet Earth 3 as much as Blue Planet 2, they would go online somewhere to moan about how shit David Attenbrough is now.
