Good performance against a poor Wolves team. Controlled the game well once we opened the scoring. No idea why Welbeck’s goal was disallowed. Surely has to be a sending off for the penalty. Their player gave the ball away in his box then fouled our player who only had to pass the ball past the keeper into the net. Second half we managed the game well and had some good passing sequences. Once the second goal went in I was a bit nervous bc we’ve been in this position before a few times this season and thrown the game away, even against this exact opponent, but it looked like it sucked the life out of the Wolves players and it was a very comfortable win in the end.

Wieffer- Superb! Won so many challenges and hardly gave the ball away at all.

Baleba- typical Baleba performance. Plenty of strong challenges, marshalled the midfield well again.

Van Hecke & Webster superb. Both very composed and didn’t do much wrong at all. Honestly I don’t know why you’d pick Dunk if those two are fit to play.

Just a shame Brentford won yet again. 8th place is still on, but it’s gonna be tough. Brentford have much kinder fixtures and are in great form.

If only we'd beaten leicestershit and dog wanderers earlier in the season. If my auntie had bollocks she'd be my uncle.
It's all ifs and buts, but I catch your drift
The other games were not 6 pointers. That game may turn out to be more crucial than first thought. But yeah all ifs and buts.

Good result today and good performance that’s what matters.

This.

With the way the season has panned out, this is our toughest fixture.

We'll know whether Europe is possible before we play next.

If it's still on, I rate our chances.

So he didn't attempt to play the ball? Need to see a replay.

Ok, I think he was hoping to get the ball, and just got tangled:

Blimey! What Wolves fan edited that? Looks from that like they were all over us apart from a couple of goals that we scored - certainly didn't reflect what was said in commentary, both on TS and BBC Final Score.

Good game management for once and all the subs worked - and Lamptey was a good pick, gave us a little bit extra going forward, credit to Fab on all that. That said, it just felt it was going to be one of those days when everything goes for us - Wolves sliced us open for probably the best move of the game in the second half but they couldn’t then convert a simple two on one (ironic look back to our 4 on 1). Still, f*** it felt good leaving an away ground having nailed the job

They showed 4 attempts by Wolves, and 4 by us. Given that they had 10 shots to our 7, and 3 on target to our 2 (although that would be 8/3 if our first goal stood), and they had 24 touches in the box to our 16, it seems fair to me.

BBC report (bizarrely in my view) says that Wolves were the better team for much of the second half. Thought we were far better throughout. They looked very poor.

Has Radio Sussex still got the caller who's an insider at Albion Lancing HQ? Leaking info on an unhappy camp, players don't like FH, etc  .
In fairness given some of the early season tactics it would not have surprised me. Today was an exciting game and a very good performance, ok we rode our luck a bit at times but Wolves are a dangerous side and we haven’t had much rub of the green recently. I think I enjoyed that game but it was a bit nailbiting until Gruda’s lovely chipped goal

From BBC website:

Brighton midfielder Bajan Gruda, speaking to Sky Sports about scoring his first ever goal for Brighton: "It was a very important game. Especially for us to go up in the league and we are happy that we won the game.

"It was a hard season for me and I'm really happy to score my first goal. I'm happy the guys come to me and celebrated the goal with me.

"I think you can see from the goal how many feelings are - it means a lot to me."

Again, BBC website:

Brighton's Danny Welbeck, speaking to PLP: "I think we were up against a good side and they're in good form. We knew we were going to be up against a tough opponent. We had a gameplan and we played it out well."

On scoring 10 goals during this Premier League campaign: "It is a good milestone to have and I feel like it could have been more. I'm looking forward to improving. We have two more games left and hopefully I'll get some more [goals]."

On Brajan Gruda scoring his first ever Premier League goal: "Special moment to get your first Premier League goal.

"He has worked hard and he has kept plugging away. That's the right mindset we need to have."

Finally, the gaffer's views:

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to BBC MOTD: "Very happy that the players showed this performance. They stuck to the plan and defended quite well.

"Second half, we defended quite well. In possession we could do it better, but I was happy to use the chance to score the second goal."

On Brajan Gruda scoring his first goal for Brighton: "It is always difficult when a German makes a compliment to a German.

"I had to give him one because he's sacrificed a lot and he has suffered a lot.

"He's training very hard and today he made himself a big presence. We are all happy for him."

On European aims: "I'm not thinking about Europe. I'm thinking about how we can win the next game."

Didn't make us look like 'The much better team, crisper passing all through, and never looking troubled'. Summary of TS and Final score comments.
