Specifically “the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball or a challenge for the ball”.

Outside the box, it would be a free-kick and a red card. Inside the box, the “double jeopardy” application applies due to the tackle he made being conceivably a feasible attempt at playing the ball.

If he’d pushed him over, it would’ve been a red, because you can’t make a legal tackle by pushing someone from behind with your hands.

And this law will be exactly the same next time this happens, and the next time, and the time after that.
The law will be exactly the same - but of course you never know how the ref is going to apply it!

I never thought it would be his ability on the ball that let's him down. Just presumed it would be his physicality. But he's actually fit, presses well, holds position (all Hurzelers favourite things), but is really poor with the ball. This of course could just be a failure of my imagination. I just ASSUMED his ability would have been on the ball, having never seen him before he moved. Unfortunately he's part of the culture shift of the team. 2 years ago our identity seemed to be about maintaining possession, almost to a fault. Now it's more focused on fitness, athleticism and running. The result is we've lost the level.of wit and creativity with the ball.
His technique is lacking.

With that Sar blunder, shouldn't have been difficult to set himself up with his first touch for a long pass into an empty net.

What does this have to do with Minteh being offside? The reason for the pen.
In that case, he moved towards the ball and went to play the ball, became “active” while in an offside position and could’ve had a bearing on the outcome of the goal with his presence close to the goalkeeper. Correct decision, again.

We seem to be following that well trodden path of giving up on midfield in the 2nd half and just twonking it up towards wellbeck. Letting the game become messy and stretched.

Would be nice to retain possession for a bit and work their legs.

Done a Frexit, now in London
Hopefully these wolves changes disrupt their play as they were getting closer
