Of course Trump is an awful person.
It is worth getting beyond that and trying to understand why they voted for him anyway. They can’t all be stupid racists.
Unfortunately , politically, a similar thing to what happened in the USA last year is brewing here.
So it’s worth learning from the democrat campaign disaster imo.
The 77m who voted for him out of an adult population of 275m, so 28%:
- Included 39m registered Republicans, til death they could never vote for evil liberals.
- yanks hate taxation, Trump portrayed an image of low taxation, small government.
- migrants. As in wider Europe now, THE big issue.
Finally state by state obstacles are put in place of the poor, uneducated and from ethnic minorities in registering to vote. Disenfranchised.
The economy did well under Biden, but in an age of social media lies every government is under attack 24-7. I said to a nsc friend about 4 years ago that nsc’s Labour diehards enjoying the media/social media attacks on the then government, would see exactly the same against Starmer’s future govenment. It took just weeks last autumn for this to transpire.

Excellent article explaining Trump’s nonchalant response and why America is unlikely to intervene (not least because in these days of having a transactional motivated leader in the WH, Kashmir has little to offer)
Worth keeping one eye on what is happening in Kashmir but there’s a long way to go before any nuclear sabre rattling might start.

Good news but not sure why you are giving Trump the credit?
Trump was no where near this - it was Marco Rubio, Secretary of State and JD Vance along with the G7 Countries who have been engaged in talks but mostly it has been the willingness of Pakistani and India to de-escalate after they both made their point.
