The choice:
1. The person you find vacuous, who cares about the poor, stands up to racism, helps Ukraine against an illegal war/land grab/mass rape machine; or
2. The person I find vacuous, who's racist, a proven sex offender, encouraged a murderous attack on Congress because he was a sore loser, only helps millionaires in his tax proposals but lies about that too.

Is there any NSC'er out there who actually likes the proven sex offender?

Trump's presidency provides a window in which autocratic leaders know they can act with total impunity. It gives them an opportunity to resolve long standing disputes whilst drumming up nationalist fervour at home.
Absolutely agree. The fact that he's consistently acting like a complete and utter c*nt, and behaving as though he's getting away with consistently acting like a complete and utter c*nt just gives every lowlife in the world a mandate to behave like a complete and utter c*nt, whether they are national leaders, grifting politicians, tech billionaires or low IQ social media warriors.

The world is a f*cking scary place at the moment.

Good article - sort of proves wars never happen in a vacuum

(I posted a map up thread btw - it’s easier to get your head around when there’s visuals.)

I hadn't known there was was a full blown war in 1965

Or this:

On November 26, 2008, fears that India and Pakistan would once again head towards direct military confrontation rose after militants laid siege to the Indian capital of Mumbai. Over three days, 166 people were killed, including 6 Americans.

The 2008 attacks were made into an excellent film with Dev Patel which was available on Amazon but not anymore.

This one is available though

(I should hasten to add, worth watching not for the ‘entertainment’ but because both films are based on factual events and give a good insight into the conflict between both Countries and between Hindu and Muslims)

It's pretty clear to me that Pakistan were the aggressive side to begin with

The conflict between India and Pakistan arose out of the 1947 Partition of British India. The Partition established a Muslim-majority Pakistan and a Hindu-majority India and provided the diverse regions of Jammu and Kashmir the opportunity to choose which country to accede to. The maharaja (Kashmir’s monarch) initially sought independence, as Kashmir was neglected and subjugated for centuries by conquering empires. However, he ultimately agreed to join India in exchange for help against invading Pakistani herders, triggering the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947-48

. Fair play to you for putting up a defence of Harris . But Whatever her intentions, her campaign was horrendous. She could not have read the mood of that nation any worse. And now the world has to contend with Trump.

Your thoughts - shared by the Democrats - are exactly why they were obliterated in the recent election.

Those who voted for Trump were not oblivious to his faults, they just considered his offer was in their best interests. In particular money in their pocket.

You can argue with that. But you’d be arguing with reality, whether his visions for America amount to much or not.

As for Harris. Fair play to you for putting up a defence. Whatever her intentions, her campaign was horrendous. She could not have read the mood of that nation any worse. And now the world has to contend with Trump.

Not a defence. I’d prefer someone that right wing Yanks and right wing NSC’ers deem as vacuous knowing little about her, than a racist, criminal and proven sex offender. Probably far more important than that Trump borrowed off the Russians to save his failed business, since then he cosy ups to the 21 century Hitler/Stalin, evil Putin waging illegal war with executions and rape in another sovereign state.

Anyone here preferring the Putin-Trump ticket over Kamala has an odd moral compass.

Struggling here...which Harris?
Rolf, and the 'two little boys' solution?
Only slightly more in the past than a rerun of the last pressy election
Surely there are other voices lined up against Trumpy we can use as a yardstick? ???
