I've heard there won't be a post match players parade round the pitch. Suspect the club are cognisant of the lens of it being done in any empty stadium
its always done in an empty ish stadium . And in the PL this will be the fourth time its happened on a weekday evening. (If it happens)

When we played man city, the players lap was against Southampton the Sunday before.

When we played man city post covid not sure there was a lap of honour.

Man utd was Friday night, very different.

So in summary, maybe not the clear cut case you thought you were presenting

Sussex but not by the sea
I couldn’t go yesterday and my ticket sold on the exchange, my kids went though and said my seat was empty, weird. I guess the buyer could have sat somewhere else as sadly there was a lot of choice!!

My only point is that fans drift off whenever it is. Its certainly played out to a backdrop of thousands of empty seats. It’s a really difficult moment to get right - especially after a defeat (although we haven’t had too many of them) .

(Yep - There was a impromptu lap post Man City in 2021)

We played (and beat) Chelsea on a Friday night ... Valentines ... which was also met with disapproval on here by some. Plus Championship games are frequently shown on Sky on Fridays.

I love Friday evening Albion home wins, they set up the best weekends ever.

Well, on Saturday evening I suddenly realised I’d forgotten to put mine and my daughter’s tickets on the exchange (we’re on hols). I quickly did it, and they were both sold within an hour. Maybe I was lucky - but perhaps tickets in the North sell better (as they’re cheaper).

Just found out that ours also resold on the exchange, in the NS, sold about 3 hours before KO!

Has to be part of it ..mine in ESU have been on the exchange asap for last two games and havnt sold…and this is for a seat virtually on the half way line…end of row and as good as level with 1901 seats opposite

So of your point of things being the same. Only 2 were and

- on one there wasn't a lap of honour
- on the other was an impromptu one in a stadium with c25% of the capacity

And the crucial point is that you were selling a pair. I have put my single seat on the exchange 3 times in the last 2 seasons (WSU) and it has never sold

I don't count Friday nights as weekday nights (or school nights as it were).. they're better than a Sunday night. As you say when you win e.g
- Away at qpr, chelsea this season,
- Sheff wed at home in 2017,
- For those of us old enough hull at the goldstone (with gostmanov rounding the keeper and celebrating before putting the ball in the net) and Northampton 3nil with adrian owers

It sets up for a wonderful weekend

Especially seeing as it will more than likely be a dead rubber...

Having said that, without TV we'd really struggle to compete at all. We can't have it both ways, so whether a like it or not, we will continue to be slaves to TV scheduling.
I'm not sure I buy the TV money argument; if there was no TV money then there would be wage and transfer fee deflation for players across all clubs. So we would be competing based on gate receipts and commercial revenue and league standings would probably be about the same as they are now.

Maybe a bit of luck (good or bad) … the opposition … timing of game … and location of seat.

I’m in W3F - so fairly central. Put mine on the exchange 4 times in the last 2 1/2 years and sold every time.

Arsenal - 5.30pm KO on NYE 2022
AEK Athens - ironically I was on holiday in Greece
Forest - Mothers Day - March 2024
Fulham - Saturday 3pm KO March 2025

Loads of empty seats near us in West lower. Shame as my mate and his son would have come and would have been able to sit with us and his friends. But £80ish for an adult and child is too much. I don’t understand why it has to be adult prices only, seems greedy.

Did we tear Derby apart on a Friday evening, McLaren post match lavished praise on us …. and was sacked?

Had a single seat to put on the exchange for West Ham & Newcastle and neither game sold. I get that two seats together are more sort after .

BTW what do the starred seats indicate ? Does it mean if you buy one then the Albion are guaranteed to win ?
