its always done in an empty ish stadium . And in the PL this will be the fourth time its happened on a weekday evening. (If it happens)I've heard there won't be a post match players parade round the pitch. Suspect the club are cognisant of the lens of it being done in any empty stadium
When we played man city, the players lap was against Southampton the Sunday before.its always done in an empty ish stadium . And in the PL this will be the fourth time its happened on a weekday evening. (If it happens)
My only point is that fans drift off whenever it is. Its certainly played out to a backdrop of thousands of empty seats. It’s a really difficult moment to get right - especially after a defeat (although we haven’t had too many of them) .When we played man city, the players lap was against Southampton the Sunday before.
When we played man city post covid not sure there was a lap of honour.
Man utd was Friday night, very different.
So in summary, maybe not the clear cut case you thought you were presenting
We played (and beat) Chelsea on a Friday night ... Valentines ... which was also met with disapproval on here by some. Plus Championship games are frequently shown on Sky on Fridays.
Well, on Saturday evening I suddenly realised I’d forgotten to put mine and my daughter’s tickets on the exchange (we’re on hols). I quickly did it, and they were both sold within an hour. Maybe I was lucky - but perhaps tickets in the North sell better (as they’re cheaper).
Has to be part of it ..mine in ESU have been on the exchange asap for last two games and havnt sold…and this is for a seat virtually on the half way line…end of row and as good as level with 1901 seats oppositeWell, on Saturday evening I suddenly realised I’d forgotten to put mine and my daughter’s tickets on the exchange (we’re on hols). So of your point of things being the same. Only 2 were andMy only point is that fans drift off whenever it is. Its certainly played out to a backdrop of thousands of empty seats. It’s a really difficult moment to get right - especially after a defeat (although we haven’t had too many of them) .
(Yep - There was a impromptu lap post Man City in 2021)
And the crucial point is that you were selling a pair. I have put my single seat on the exchange 3 times in the last 2 seasons (WSU) and it has never soldWell, on Saturday evening I suddenly realised I’d forgotten to put mine and my daughter’s tickets on the exchange (we’re on hols). I don't count Friday nights as weekday nights (or school nights as it were).. they're better than a Sunday night. As you say when you win e.gI love Friday evening Albion home wins, they set up the best weekends ever.
I'm not sure I buy the TV money argument; if there was no TV money then there would be wage and transfer fee deflation for players across all clubs. So we would be competing based on gate receipts and commercial revenue and league standings would probably be about the same as they are now.Especially seeing as it will more than likely be a dead rubber...
Having said that, without TV we'd really struggle to compete at all. We can't have it both ways, so whether a like it or not, we will continue to be slaves to TV scheduling.
Maybe a bit of luck (good or bad) … the opposition … timing of game … and location of seat. And the crucial point is that you were selling a pair. I have put my single seat on the exchange 3 times in the last 2 seasons (WSU) and it has never sold

- Away at qpr, chelsea this season,
- Sheff wed at home in 2017,
- For those of us old enough hull at the goldstone (with gostmanov rounding the keeper and celebrating before putting the ball in the net) and Northampton 3nil with adrian owers
It sets up for a wonderful weekend
Busted !So of your point of things being the same. Only 2 were and
- on one there wasn't a lap of honour
- on the other was an impromptu one in a stadium with c25% of the capacity
Spot onDid we tear Derby apart on a Friday evening, McLaren post match lavished praise on us …. and was sacked?
