...both pre-match and post-match was all kinds of "fun", with the latter being about the worst I can remember.

I know some missed kick-off too, due to the snarl-up.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
2.5 hours Bridge car park to Haywards Heath

Still at least we weren’t joining the westbound A27, which looked like hell

Sorry to hear this. Trains not much better on Sunday service packed up to London with a joker of a guard trying to deflect the full train onto people placing suitcases on seats! Declassified 1st class far too late. Could've been worse travelling to LA though!

Just back now. Shocking getting out of the University alone.
We didn't rush back to the car park, and @Papa Lazarou mooted it could make for a speedy geteaway with so many others in front of us.

No such joy - the car park was the worst I've seen it - cars seemingly pointing in every which way, and no one moving.

Yes, we watched some of Chelsea in our lounge, expecting everything to have died down

Got on a Mill Road Bus with a driver that pulled straight into the middle lane of the A27 from the slip road, whilst other Mill Road buses went past us down the inside lane and pulled in further down. When asked why he didn't do the same, he just replied 'I'm not allowed to do that'.

Again at A27/A23 junction further Mill Road buses went up the slip road, across the roundabout and back down onto the A27 further up. Same response from our driver constantly. We were on that bus for over an hour and missed kick off and 1st 12 minutes, whilst at least half a dozen other busses had undertaken us and disappeared off into the distance.

Coming back after a couple of beers, the Bus driver told us that the A23 was solid and went via Falmer road, Elm Grove, Oxford Street and out onto the London Road. We were still back in under 40 mins. The two extremes today.

Looking forward to Liverpool

Coach from Shoreham left at 12pm - with 4 stops on route arrived at 2.42pm. Missed the whole first half. Worst I've ever experienced. I know some might say 'go early' but how frigging early? The coach I catch goes at same time at 1pm from Shoreham and I can't force the drive to leave an hour earlier. Fortunately for me there were about 45 other people equally pissed off so I wasn't alone.

1st time I've ever missed kick off at the Amex. Shocking journey on EDF P&R owing to roadworks and an accident in the 1 lane open. Took an hour to get to A27/A23 junction, driver then took us off and via Hollidean. Only missed 1st 10 mins or so, I reckon it would've been nearly been half time if driver had stayed on A27.

Coming back was 20 min wait for a bus then 35 mins or so back, with 15 of those being the 1st mile or so.

I reckon Pawson was in control of transport aswell!

As I mentioned on the main thread, we sat in the car for over an hour, and with about 15 mins to go til kick off, we gave up as we were still on A27. Would have been lucky to see any of the first half... We'd done about 8 miles in an hour, including being at a complete stop for a bus of Newcastle fans with a blown out tyre...

Why in gods name didn't someone think to use their brains and move back the cones and use the hard shoulder so two lanes could be "made". A bank holiday weekend, where trains aren't running, and they couldn't put any brain power to it to think people might want to actually GO SOMEWHERE!!! Just bonkers...Nothing will change though, it never does..

We came home and watched the rest on TV. About an hour ago I saw one of the regular buses come down our road, around 1.5 hours late...

Getting to the Amex is usually pretty bad, but this is the last straw for me...Not sure I'll bother again...I love the Amex and the game, but the diabolical travel is now outweighing all of that...

Hove actually
Was I the only one who rocked up to the racecourse for the P&R only to be advised it had been cancelled. I then got to EDF around 13:45, saw a bus just leave and thought ‘oh well I will miss the first 20 mins. Boarded next bus that arrives 13:50 and there are 4 of us sorry looking individuals who boarded. The driver then said it was taking up to 50 mins to get over. I promptly got off and gave the game a swerve.

What a rats arse!!!

Shoreham
It was horrendous tbf. I was slow getting away from the stadium as I stopped for a chat and then went to the club shop, got in the car at about 5 and got to Shoreham by 6:30pm.

Left Burgess Hill 12:30 and got to the Amex 13:10. Initial queue at 23/27 junction opened up after lane closure and no queue on the Falmer slip.

30 min delay back after so, annoying but nothing compared to some of your experiences.

Only 1 more of these to go

Isn’t 1pm a bit late for a 2pm ko? What time does the coach normally leave for a 3pm ko?
