Liverpool's form was poor leading up to the Spurs game and there's a decent chance they won't be arsed

Wolves form relied entirely on a freak set of fixtures, where they played the bottom 6.

The Europa League final is BEFORE we play them.

Other than those facts.
You make a superb argument.
Is it a bird ? Is it a plane ? No it’s super smug fan alert

Yep, some of our fans on here get irrationally angry about these things.

Got a point against a stronger side who also desperately wanted all three? What's there to be angry about? It's not as if a draw was not a fair result for us.
No one is getting “irrationally angry” - that’s a rather trolling comment.

We did well the first half and were the stronger side but it was a poor second half from us. We threw away victory with a silly handball and missed open goal.

As a team, the match was littered with below par, individual errors (on both sides).

I think Hinsh looked lost in MF, we were vulnerable to counter attacks as usual in our transitions, gave away possession needlessly and there was poor communication between Bart and VH. Baleba arrived late, Dunk made several poor clearances and Adingra constantly ran into defenders … nitpicking but only because I have seen us play better and when Europe is at stake, it was disappointing second half.

I think a point a piece was a fair result and of course it was good to get something from it but for a home game that we almost had in the bag, it was 2 points needlessly dropped IMO.

Brentford are the big threat now IMO.

Bournemouth have Villa and Man City before a gimme against Leicester. Fulham have Everton, Brentford and Man city. Brentford have Ipswich, Fulham and Wolves. We need Fulham to get a result against them. I assume that both teams consider that a derby?
One would hope so. This really is likely to go down to the wire.

Thought that was a gutsy defensive display IMHO, really dogged against a very good team

TBH would be really want Conference League football? 7000 mile midweek trip to Kazakstan isn't ideal.
Not that there's much chance this season, but 100% would want a shot at the Conference. European experience, chance of winning a trophy. I thought it was only teams like United and Chelsea that whined about some competitions being beneath them!
I would rather we miss out and try again for Europa league.
Nah, let's miss out for five years and wait until the CL comes our way!

We could win the Conference and get Europa... You'd expect a side 7-9th in the Prem to go deep into the competition. I take your point about the travelling but any European competition is the target surely? Imagine us winning a European trophy - us!!!

Very quiet walk back to the car but my expectations were that we would get overwhelmed today. In fact it looked like our previous two victories over them had left a mark on Howe, they were very unadventurous first half and our brilliant winger took advantage. Second half obviously the game broke up but we traded punch for punch like a good prize fight.

Our performance today has woke me up a bit, I thought our season was slipping away without a fight but we matched a very good team. We need to win next week of course but I’m more hopeful of that today than when I travelled this morning

TBH the way it's going in 5 years time the CL might be taking 12 PL teams
