Disappointing to come so close and let it slip but, realistically, a decent point against a very good side who had the referee playing for them too.

Europe probably just a bridge too far this season but there’s plenty to look forward to. The squad will be more experienced next season, Gomez will be better integrated, Tzimas to possibly join in the fun. Time to invoke the mantra of the football supporter…

“Just wait until next season”.

Not sure where this burst of optimism has come from. Probably the result of a lovely morning on the Downs and by the Adur shooting the 3 Forts Challenge. Well done to any of you who were out there.

Onwards…

For me the pivotal moment was João Pedro's moronic red card. Now without him, injuries to Rutter and Mitoma, we look so much weaker upfront.

But you could really say that about all sorts of moments. If Ayari hadn't decided to stick his hand out... Etc
No, it was Webster and Rutter getting injured against Forest. We’ve actually done ok since JP’s red card, including in the game he got sent off in!

Good point, decent enough performance.

Gomez really should have won it at the end. Silly from Ayari. But we got a fair bit of luck today at times.

Think we can be satisfied with a point - as our chances of Europe are still very much still on.
We have the hardest fixtures out of the teams chasing and now it’s out of our hands I think we might of missed the boat for Europe

2 points dropped, we have lost 22 points from winning positions now.
I thought the defending and tactics against Howes men was spot on......but when some plonker moves his arm in the pen away from his body to stop the ball....what can you do.

Crap defending and how did Ayari miss such a fantastic chance ?

Some really poor moments in this match - if it wasn’t for Bart we’d be 2 goals down.

At this stage of the season and a match where we are fighting for eighth to get into Europe, this is second half was simply not good enough.

Too much shithousery going on on both sides and not enough clinical football.

2 points dropped for unenforced errors:
Think you mean Gomez if you’re referring to the header?

The errors came from being under pressure from a very good side in great form. We’re allowed to play well and be under the pump during games. Gomez free header was the margin in this game.

Nah,
It’s official. That is the worst refereeing performance I’ve ever seen. Forget the penalties I’m still Lost for words that Dan Burns assault on Minteh in the first half in front of the dug outs wasnt even deemed a foul!
Spurs away when all the ref decisions went for them and VAR screwed up as well.

It’s not clear we do - Brentford’s are definitely kinder but Bournemouth and Fulham could end up winning as many or fewer points than us

My only complaint about that game is Pawson’s Newcastle bias along with the Sky commentary team’s. Newcastle deserved at least a point though.

The player’s gave their all and the tactics weren’t suicidal. it is what it is

A good point on balance as they were much better than we were. They looked stronger than us everywhere and if not for JP, Dunk, Baleba and Bart, we’d have been done by a few.

Yep, some of our fans on here get irrationally angry about these things.

Got a point against a stronger side who also desperately wanted all three? What's there to be angry about? It's not as if a draw was not a fair result for us.
