What a shame Trump didn't bother to meet the bodies of the four US military returned home after their tragic deaths during NATO training exercises in Baltics (?) - he chose golf instead.

It seems to be a recurring theme with the US....stay out of it until something happens to involve them, then come in all guns blazing.

It’s more nuanced than that but basically it was Germany that declared war on the U.S a few days after the U.S. declared war on the Japanese.
Don’t get me wrong, the US had a huge part in winning the war. Upsetting that Trump has weaponised the brave work and sacrifices of American soldiers.

That was mainly due to the US being isolationist. UNTIL Woodrow Wilson took up a leadership role and started the failed League of Nations. The reason for the need for the US to take up the leadership role was the failed leadership in Europe and the reason for the failed League of Nations was the vindictiveness of the European leaders towards Germany. Also the stroke Wilson suffered in his second term.

I am aware the US contribution in WWI was a very important factor in the final win but the way the Yanks go on about it anyone would think they did it all on their own and we were losing. I would say it was actually Pearl Harbour that fundamentally changed America’s stance on WWII. Until then, it was Europe’s problem.
Same way before 9/11, America’s involvement in foreign wars was largely in South America and to a lesser extent SE Asia - Post 9/11, Bush’s War on Terror began a whole new era of political and military intervention in the ME.
Same way now, the war in Ukraine is regarded by Trump as a European problem.
Does anyone else see pattern here?
The American psyche is ‘isolationist’ until it affects Americans personally - that was why the war in Vietnam was so unpopular when body bags in the thousands started being shipped home - American lives being lost for what?

Okay, but Woodrow Wilson and the League of Nations was about the Great War (WWI) and the failed leadership in Europe. It was a failed attempt by Wilson due to Americans wanting to stay isolationist. If the US hadn't expanded into the Pacific there would have been no need for the Japanese to Attack Pearl Harbor (no "u"). Americans would have never got involved in Europe without failed leadership among European leaders.
I literally thought until this post that nothing Trump could do anymore could surprise me, but this has somehow managed it. He has swung so far into parody he must have put a whole generation of comedians out of work

But as with much in their society, much is based on lies and historical revisionism.
You wont find truthful references inside Russia of the Soviets actions, prior to 1941, their partnership with Nazi Germany, their part in the invasion of Poland.
For much of the brainwashed masses the war only started in 1941 with Op Barbarosa when Hitler attacked. You'll find no mention of US lend lease, or absolutely crucial intel passed by British having cracked enigma.
They won the war alone.
Lovely footage from the May 1941 red square March, then it was celebrating the glorious 1917 revolution, now its Russias victory of Nazis in the great 1941-1945 war ..... And this just weeks before The Germans betrayed them and attacked. (of course in Russia this is fake news)
