750 new arrivals in the last week. I reckon 2025 will see close to the Amex Capacity migrants arrive by boat
Anyway i’ll be back next week with the latest numbers, im predicting a quieter week thank god due to the swell, 875 new hotel residents
I imagine there will be quite a few coming over for the Liverpool game, it’s a popular fixture.

A bit late to this, but for all the blaming governments for the arrivals, what is their solution ??

These are human beings whose lifes are so desperately sad they are prepared to leave everything they know travel 1000s of miles then cross the inky Black Sea at the dead of night in an overcrowded boat in the hope of a better life… how are you going to stop them ???
To stop them will take someone with with the balls to make it extremely unattractive and unappealing to arrive here by unauthorised boats without papers. I’m afraid the liberal leaning in this country couldn’t possibly allow this and so it will continue, and yes we can get excited by the Government deporting 1000’s but then allow 1000’s in

The first step would be to put them in 3 star hotels instead of 4 star 🤣

Eventually a Premier Inn.

More unattractive than the country’s they left ? War, famine dictatorships and being dirt poor ?

Not sure your solution would stop them TBH.

What we have now in the west is the chickens coming home to roost I am afraid, 100s of years of empires taking all they could from Africa, depending on oil from the Middle East and imposing political systems upon countries quite happily being governed as they had been for 1000s of years.

What might be better is to invest large amounts of money into these countries and start again, but unfortunately the corruption is rife.

What we could do is join a large block of countries like the EU and manage immigration throughout that union….

They are often not dirt poor. The dirt-poor ones usually end up in refugee camps nearer their homes. It costs an awful lot of money to get on transport and make it to places like the UK. They are of course, dirt poor by the time they reach their destinations.

Having an asylum processing centre in France will decrease the crossings except the ones who really want to evade scrutiny.

We need a modern day Ellis Island, those that want to evade scrutiny and bypass legitimate identity checks should be housed in tented villages with perimeter fencing, not housed in hotels, given phones and set free amongst the general population, those that do choose the correct channel’s will be looked after and their cases for asylum processed quicker

Asylum seekers seek asylum straightaway and are looked after by the government until their claim.

How do you catch those who evade scrutiny? Raids are already happening on nail bars, barbers, local restaurants, amusement arcades etc. Border Force are very busy.

These are human beings looking for a better life.

Put yourself in their position, you have nothing your wife and kids have no future, you just hope that by moving 1000s of miles away and getting exploited by gangs you may just have a chance to make your life a bit better.
That sounds as romantic as your lot winning the FA Cup in a few weeks

In what way do asylum seekers make your life more difficult?

You catch them mid channel and ship them off to detention centres 👍

I was asking the missus this morning if she recalls how all this illegal channel crossing started. It all went mad after 2018, getting worse as Johnson became PM (see graph below). If ever there was a clearer 'cause and effect' (the Tories 'caused' it) in politics it I don't know what it is. It is as if leaving the EU and having Johnson as PM has caused a mass 'flood' of illegal immigration that the Tories did nothing to stop. In fact the Tories seem to have presided over a change with France (in particular) that has been very difficult to reverse (because the numbers arriving have not fallen under Labour).

My brother works in immigration services specifically dealing with under-age unaccompanied asylum seekers who arrive with no documentation. They are housed in hostels them most of them abscond. Most of them are probably older than they claim. The process doesn't work because the Tories did not want to spend tax payers' money to make it work. Why they decided to spunk masses of money on the madcap Rwanda scheme is beyond me. The trouble is 'we will need to raise taxes in order to make the handling of illegal arrivals more efficient and streamlined' is not something that will win Labour votes. Labour are nevertheless doing better with arrivers, but of course it is the arriving that is the problem.

Farage seems to think the navy can shoo the boats back into French waters. I don't think the navy agrees. His latest election winner thinks making asylum seekers live in tents ('metaphorical' tents according to Dickhead Tice) will dissuade their arrival. Rather laughable.

Meanwhile I gather that some oaf I have on ignore has been posting on NSC that the main reason people are arriving illegally is because they are guaranteed permanent residence in a 4 star hotel. Presumably this arrangement was made during the Johnson government by secret woke Labour socialists working in the asylum system, with access to billions of pounds of taxpayers money, no questions asked. And people wonder how people can think voting Reform is a smart move?

And that ladies and gentlemen is the issue in a nutshell. Worth remembering when WW2 ended, in Europe alone, 15 million people 'migrated' countries so we've coped before :)

Without any due process? Who is going to catch them?
International Maritime Law prevents it by force.

Before Brexit, we could return them to France, but people believed the Brexit lies of being able to control our borders. You get what you voted for.

Because the previous governments closed all the official routes to claim asylum, there is no other way than to set foot on British soil.
That's why the present government is supposedly trying to open processing places abroad.

To be fair you don't need to put yourself in their position. Speaking to people who have made these journeys and suffered at the hands of the make it awful as a deterrent brigade is enough to understand.

4 Star hotel charade shows that Chicken Run hasn't got the first clue what he is talking about. But talk he does and talk he will, without a thought of actually finding out what he's on about.

I’m sorry i haven’t explained that properly, i agree with you, we need an offshore processing centre, you said France but you suggested some will still try and avoid the scrutiny such a centre will have therefore those are the ones that will cross by boat, which will be escorted in as they are now but rather than cushy hotels with freedom to roam they are detained in tented villages with perimeters

Ah, you mean detention camps? Yes, Britain invented those. Concentration camps where people are concentrated until they are processed. Got ya.
