Didn't Russia demand the west stop arming Ukraine, as a prerequisite to a ceasefire?

Guess who is arming Ukraine once again? It's only $50 million but it's a start.

Really excellent news if this report is accurate*. It’s starting to feel like those opportunistic meetings at the pope’s funeral have really done some good. And to think, it’s all because meeting with JD Vance pushed him over the edge.

* No reason to suggest it isn’t, other than Trump. Which is a fairly big reason, I’ll grant you

Can't help feeling that Ukraine has been shafted - USA coming in to pick over the remains like jackals. Will be interesting though if Russia now tries to move in and take 'America's' minerals - maybe it will give Ukraine a degree of protection. Would rather they'd done a deal with Europe though.
Yes but pleased it gives another reason for USA to defend Ukraine

Russian media can usually be relied upon to over-egg a pudding, but seems to be getting rather feverish about May 9, some eight days too early.

'US Secretary of State Marco Rubio MIGHT attend the parade in Moscow on May 9.'
"a source in the diplomatic circles" that REPORTEDLY said that "The United States MIGHT be represented at a high level.'
'this representative COULD be Secretary of State Marco Rubio," the source ALLEGEDLY said.

Would confirm he is a total f##ing wanker if he does attend. Although he is anyway.

Maybe they think having a US “name” there will deter Ukraine from disrupting it

Its a start.

But I wonder if this is really based on any real intent to sell weapons to Ukraine over the long haul, or rather a token sale, much publiscised, more aimed at the Kremlin, to try and get the Russians to sign a deal??

That thought had occurred to me as well.

I have no idea whether Ukraine intends to disrupt it or not, but I have little doubt that Russia fears disruption, hence their proposed 3 day ceasefire for ahem,
'humanitarian' reasons.

I found this useful summary of the US-Ukraine deal on Nexta:

A detailed version of it will come later, but on the surface, the deal doesn't look nearly as one-sided as earlier versions.

If that's factual then Ukraine did a good job in the negotiations.
I'm not sure there was ever a proposed minerals deal from the EU 🤔... probably didn't want to pee on the US's party.

Excuse my ignorance but are there significant mineral deposits in the Ukraine areas US has said should become part of Russia?
Will try to post a map below. If you google 'minerals map Ukraine ' or similar, you should get many maps produced in varying styles. I haven't overlaid with the occupied regions or by Oblast, but probably a map exists...
Actually, tons of maps in my link. Fill your boots!

If he attends I believe Trump will have ordered it. Would be a choice of a Moscow parade or the end of your career, pension, protection of your mob leader. An easy choice if one already has millions and, importantly, some moral backbone.
