Were they really? Which one is your favorite? Here's some typical post-match De Zerbi interviews. Super powerful and entertaining.

Not that it matters. Unless you throw someone under the bus, no one is really going to give a shit what you say in these situations.

The fact you have watched every DeZerbi presser pre & post match is funny considering you hate the fella.

Indeed. I'm not sure 'fire in the belly' makes a difference. Folk seem so obsessed with image. I'm really not bothered about whether a manager is dull or not.
I suspect some of us (well, when I say 'us') would prefer a manager like this:

Were they? Don't remember them being much different other than the Rome one when he had a hissy fit. His language skills didn't allow for much excitement. FH is much like Potter or Hughton - nothing to see here I don't think.
They were worse.
I always thought the look on his face is one of ‘sigh……not this shit again……..bat it off and don’t say anything controversial’.
Not sure why anyone would think any manager wouldn’t take that exact approach.
They are contractually obliged to do the interview but not to make them entertaining.

Which is why the point you are apparently trying to make isn't actually a point.
The ironic thing about ironic things is they are commonplace.

Exactly - what we secretly all want him to say is, "I'm f***ing furious with this mob of overpaid timewasters. Can you believe they've barely mustered a shot in 3 games? I so wanted to beat the Selhurst scumbags but I've got a goalie who can't save, a defence who can't defend, a midfield that goes sideways and an attack that doesn't shoot and no one listens to a word I say. The miserable Brighton fans haven't mustered a song for me the whole season so they clearly couldn't give a shit about me, my players dive rather than keep going and they can't seem to walk ten yards without getting injured. I'm going to get out of this shithole and go home and get bladdered so f*** you and your stupid questions" but it's probably best he sticks to sensible, non controversial responses eh?

In no way, shape or form did I watch all pressers with De Zerbi or any manager. But he coached the team I watch on a weekly basis so I was exposed to a fair share of incoherent mumbling. Fabian is also boring in front of a TV camera. Same with Potter. The last "fun" PL managers disappeared 20 years ago.

It all depends whether you like him or not.
If you like him, his pressers are OK.
If you think he's a spotty German teenager who is obsessed with Der Process,
then you will conclude his pressers are wrong, embarrassing, and Get Rid.

What Hurzeler says to the media before and after games is very possibly the least important part of his job.

What he says to the players day in day out, immediately before a game, at half-time and after games is significantly more important and we see almost nothing of that. We get the odd glimpse on Brighton Uncut with some post-match stuff if we've won, but I don't think we've ever seen him at work in the dressing room before a game nor at half-time, for quite obvious reasons.

Answering the same inane questions from journalists every bloody week really has nothing to do with how effective he is as a leader and coach.

100% this. Judgements being passed on him based on what is a tiny %, scripted, forced, edited part of his job that has literally zero bearing on anything that happens on the pitch. Absolutely laughable

Hurzeler getting a slating after we lose to the Croydon pikeys…. Now there’s a suprise.
I’m not his biggest fan, never have been but moaning about the way he interviews takes the biscuit. He’s boring (probably as boring as potter ….which takes some doing!) but he doesn’t throw players under the bus and always takes responsibility when things go tits up . To my mind that earns the players respect and loyalty which hopefully , when everyone is fit , will show in performances.

As long as we learn from it, move on and trust the process.
We know what the process is. It's been in place a long time...since before FH got here.
He is a young man who has rather surprisingly been given a pretty big job in the biggest league in the world.
We have allowed him a season to cut his teeth..to learn...to experiment...to make mistakes. From August the honeymoon is over. Time to be a big boy and show your teeth. Next season he will be under a lot of pressure. It will define his future.

Brighton factually.....
Sorry but Fabian really needs to work on this. His pre and post match interviews are bloody awful monotone one word answers offers nothing. Needs more fire in the belly a serious work in progress imo
Get a grip, really is this the best you can come up with after that game, if you looked up the definition of monotone, underneath a picture of Potter would be there as an example.
this bloke in his second language takes responsibility.

Now, I wasn't intending to post in this thread but I do hate this.
I'm coming up for 60 this year and am therefore blessed with a footballing dinosaur outlook. Not everyone can change. I certainly can't.

Managers accepting responsibility for everything is a lazy cop out. Nice and easy for them to show they're all carey/sharey tree huggery but as evidenced by the amount of time fab-Fab has come out with it, it just doesn't seem to be that effective in geeing the players up.

It's a bit like modern school kids all getting a participation medal on sports day.
Our poor little darlings mustn't be seen to be responsible.
However, "Fab can't be held responsible for strikers shooting wide" I've seen on here many times.
I'd rather be truthful and rip them all a new one.
Maybe a wake up call would do some of them good, to be called out.
God knows we appear to have some right fancy Dan willocky-woos in the squad who favour style over substance and don't want to get stuck right in, who have no bollocks.

Tell it like it is Fab, let them know when they've let you down, let the club down and let the paying fans down. I don't care if they don't like it up em.

I loved Cloughie, can you tell.
"Players lose you games, not tactics."
