Isn’t it hat why we signed Cashin?
He's not going to be only CB we sign in 2025, pretty sure of that.

Keeping van Hecke will be near impossible and Lewis Dunks days as an obvious starter will be over. Igor very likely shipped to anywhere. Cashin could possibly be loaned out depending on how he's doing in trainings now. Meanwhile the best U21 options are 17 years old.

I'd say some action on the CB positions is inevitable. Could imagine we buy 3-5 CBs with maybe two intended for next season.

Why do you think keeping Van Hecke is near impossible?

I get that he could be in demand, but I’m not sure anyone will pay the price we’d ask for. Contract until 2027 but I’d assume with a + 1 option. Not a perfect situation for us so I imagine a new contract will be on the table for him.

Meanwhile, the Bournemouth centre halves and Guehi will likely be where the big clubs call first.

It depends where we finish re keeping JPvH, same goes for 2 or 3 others.

Dunk gave an interview Saturday where for the first time (I think) he said he’s been struggling for a lot of this season with minor injuries. I wouldn’t write him off just yet but agree he’s gone past the summit now.

Cashin is interesting, it felt like a tactical signing, Dunk and Igor out and Webster could have broken down after 2 games rather than 8. We’ll see next season I guess.

I completely disagree with that. He's had a good season, but not at the sort of evel that's going to have bigger clubs beating a path to our door, especially not in a summer when Huijsen (has a release clause), Guehi, potentially Branthwaite, Maguire and others will be available. Harwood-Bellis hasn't had a great season but the fact somebody saw fit to pick him for England a few months ago means he's clearly considered to have decent potential, and with Saints going down, somebody will pick him up.

JPVH is great but I'm very confident he's still going to be here next season.

There’s a Jpvh hole in Man City’s defence . I agree with you though , there are a few quality centre backs knocking around and vh hasn’t done quite enough this season
