When will our day come ? It seems to me our club can’t win any big match against a decent side , from play off matches to cup semi and quarter finals
Didn't we beat Newcastle and Chelsea in previous rounds? Should count as "big games" if a quarter final does.

Why do people feel the need to turn on our players after a loss. In the last couple of pages we have coated Adingra, Gruda, Hinshelwood, even João Pedro and Mitoma are In the firing line.

We lost to a really good team who played better than us on the night because we were not at our best. We probably need to take this one on the chin and move on. It's not the refs fault, it's not any one players fault, it just didn't happen for us.
Spot on. Just wasn’t our day yesterday we’ll get over it. The desire to seek out scapegoats and point fingers sickens me. Support the team, turn up Wednesday and get behind them

When it went to penalties knew we would lose as Bart never gets near one sadly. Forest players went to ground for every 50/50 ball and the ref kept falling for it. Our own fault though as we had 120 minutes plus injury time to score a goal but couldn't get past their sold back four. I prefer Gomez over Ayari as think he is better moving the ball forward. Forest's game plan without Wood was to win on penalties and it worked.
I don't think Gomez can last 90 mins yet (yet alone 120)

Forest are riding the crest of a wave right now and brimming with confidence. It showed…
They are an excellent side and third in the premier league for a reason. Their defence is as strong as any in the division and they are a strong, physical, well drilled unit.
We may not have been at our best yesterday and for sure, some of our better players had off days but Forest are a bloody good side. Hats off to them.
Our day will undoubtedly come though
That was my assessment too.
Physically and tactically Forest are a very good team and we did well to mitigate their quick breaks. They started at a very high tempo and this gradually declined. Going into extra time they seemed content to go for the draw when we had the slight upper hand.
Close game and we lost out.
Having said that we have won a couple recently where the margins have been fine. ‘That’s football’ as a certain ex manager used to say.

Just far enough away from LDC
I avoided posting much or indeed saying anything about the game itself.

I honestly didn't think we did too much wrong. Forest are anti football away from home and we did a better job of containment than we did earlier in the season and brought subs on to try and change the game.

They are the type of team that a type of team like us struggle against. Swamp the midfield. Break up play with niggly fouls and falling over. It's dycheball with added iberian cynicism

A different ref would have booked Anderson twice and gibbs white twice (finger pointing and remonstrating in officials faces will cost the latter a long international career). Kavanagh or Oliver and one of those is off. Bankes was awful for both teams but is a ref who deals with the symptom but never deals with the cause.

Forest have had 3 pen shootouts for a reason. Because they're good at them. End of. Their cup strategy is their away strategy on steroids. Keep it tight, kill the game but with the added bonus of backing themselves to win after the draw on pens.

I won't blame any player who puts their hand up to take a pen

I had no issue with most forest fans after the game. Being happy and celebrating is fine but their were some right muppets in the train queue after. Waiting until up the bridge before lording it when out of reach. Or the 40 year old who decided to try and punch 3 teenage brighton fans the other side of the barrier because they laughed at him when he was goading them

Nice too see you are at lancing every day watching training
what a pathetic response. firstly, its a 300 mile round trip and secondly even i at 61 could score a penalty in front of my team mates but id sh1t myself being watched by 30,000 fans and a few million online. I've seen dozens of comments online suggesting Hinch would miss before he even hit the ball. He pretty much relied on the goalie going the wrong way as the goalie had about a week to stop that goal going in

I think I'd rather Man City win the Cup than have this bloody "Newcastle style" love-in for the team that hasn't won anything for
60 years b**lox.
My sentiments exactly. If we can't win it (as we now can't) then I certainly don't want to see Bournemouth or Palace parading it. Let City win it as it means nothing to them but just another trophy.

Preston, Forest or City for me

Bournmouth and Palace can get f***ed though.

Horrendous journey home last night. M23 closed at Crawley, M25 closed at Leatherhed, roadworks around the A3 on the diversion. Got home at 2.45am, thank goodness it was a 5.15 kick off 😩

This was a home tie in the quarterfinals of the FA CUP, that nearly all the big teams have been eliminated, with a great chance of winning our first ever trophy, so yes was a big game

Forest are third for a reason. They are tough to play against. It’s why we lost 7-0. Our performance could have been better but we could also have sneaked a win.
FH had no change of tactics to counter their defensive setup, I would of thought he might of tried something different, but no same old way ,
