I've said this before, but I honestly think in both cases they were/are more interested in the title of president/prime minister, as opposed to actually doing the work when they got the gig. Which isn't really what you want from your leader. I guess this time around, Trump's main motivation was staying out of jail (or, at least, court), but he's clearly not REALLY arsed about making America great again.

But surely Trump has ALWAYS been great? No-one is greater than him. He's the greatest human or animal that ever walked this earth. Remember Trump's first term where he would careen from one wild statement or scandal to the next without pausing for breath in a blitzkrieg approach so that no one could focus on any f the serious shortcomings of his presidency?
I can't work out whether this Vance guy is this term's equivalent or if he's just the political version of Jay from the inbetweeners.
Maybe they're not mutually exclusive options.

Trump and Johnson are/were as far as removed from suitability for high office as anyone. Trump is a nasty piece of work, bringing bullying business strategies to statespersonship, whereas Johnson was reckless, making it up as he went along. Both disastrous by different reasons.
