I don’t think Harry will be worrying about leaving at 85 mins for the drive home to Kent
Oddly I watched us in the disabled enclosure for a Leicester game last time I had a knee op.
Had to listen to the gromblers singing 'champions of England, You'll never say that' as Vardy got them a win.
I'll be giving this one a miss.

Make sure you have a solicitor check over any paperwork beforehand. My mate had both his knees ruined in a dual procedure but when he tried to sue afterwards he didn't have a leg to stand on.

It is not normally badly painful (except when I get the sharp pain once every few months and can't put weight on it for a day).
But it is affecting my gait, and I suspect the 'compensatory posture' is contributing to my back pains.
We went for a walk at Winchelsea today (may post a pic later) but the back ache kicked in quickly.
It is almost certainly walking with fear/tension.
Can't be having that.
Plus the walk down stairs first thing in the morning is a tragedy to behold.
And I can't bend it enough to cycle now.
It's a gonner.

I am really looking forward to getting to the end of the tunnel.
Not bothered about pain.
But I am worried about infection.
A work colleague had problems with that.
As long as it heals, I'll be happy
Funnily enough I had more problems with my back than my knee post op, which was down to years of compensating for my bad knee when I walked. It took a couple of years to get over it.
Forgot to mention. ice packs, they are a thing of beauty and will push paracetamol as your new best friend.

Another thing to get, those ice packs with the velco straps(temu do them!). You'll want to ice the knee up 4 or five times a day....really helped the missus
Is this it?

When you wait up afterwards, the worst 'injury' will be the surgical wound. If you can get your your head around the 'it's only a cut' position you will have a better outlook.

I supported a couple of mates that did the GUC 145 mile ultra race back in 1999 - from Gas Street Basin in Birmingham to Little Venice in London. Me and another mate drove up to meet them before the start at 6am. We couldn't find them - and the race organiser (who knew my two mates well) hadn't seen them either. We went to their hotel to discover they were still in bed. They'd gone into Birmingham the night before for some food and a half of shandy ... ended up going to a strip club and got back rather worse for wear in the early hours. So they had their own start some time after everyone else had set off.

Unbelievably they completed the event. There's now a max 45 hours to do it ... not sure what the limit was back then. They ended up doing it in just over 46 hours ... quite incredible considering they were still pissed when they started the race.

Another friend of mine - a German lady who won silver in the mixed coxed four at 2012 Paralympics - was second female when she did the GUC in 2006 (before her disability kicked in) ... in an amazing time of 39 hours and 34 minutes. Crazy!

10-12 miles a day sounds a far better option to me. Best of luck with it.
Yes, retired, and doing this socially and for fun. Great story though, we’ve all done similar, I went straight to the pick up point for the London to Brighton bike ride from a very boozy bbq 😂😂😂

Having worked with hundreds of people who have had replacement joints I cannot emphasise how important it is to follow the post surgery physio to the letter. Just because you “Feel” you can do more dont, follow the program and you will have far better end results, good luck.
