It's obviously football related.

The club and football authorities can't just wash their hands with this.
It is difficult for football authorities though. If you start punishing clubs for incidents away from the ground on a different day, where does it stop? Should Albion be punished if there’s trouble at the station when we play Palace? It’s a huge can of worms to open.

Let’s hope any victims of this scum make a quick recovery. I do think there is some rose tainted vision with some of the comments, given knife crime in the UK is at an all time high. Would be interesting to know the stats for the Brighton area in 2023.
....another load of whataboutery.... it's irrelevant that stabbings sometimes happens elsewhere..... in Rome, when football is involved, it's an epidemic,... and it's a matter of record.

How is it 'obviously'? Sadly tourists get pickpocketed and mugged all the time in Rome. It's just more obvious and more likely if a large crowd of football fans are in town.
I agree with you but no chance could UEFA PROVE this is football related. Roma would argue it was miles from their ground and on a non-match day.
I know many Welsh and English rugby fans from my club who have been to Rome for the 6 nations on a number of occasions.... never once, have any of them reported buttock stabbings.... Roma have a track record.

I'm sorry, but that is complete rubbish. When is the last time an opposition football fan was stabbed in Brighton? Foreign football fans get stabbed around Roma games literally all the time. It is not comparable in any way at all.

Doing nothing gives these herberts carte blanche to do it again. And they will.
It's not a one off, this happens every single time Roma play a European tie.
EUFA should shift all their Europe games to a neutral venue

Well yes, but we have to admit that England was at the forefront of the cult of football related violence. As it has diminished in England it's been taken-up enthusiastically on the continent and sadly its innocent fans like Jack who are paying the price...
UEFA can only make decisions in the present. In the present UEFA will not do anything unless it is English fans doing the stabbing.

Just adding a bit of perspective. After all we don‘t live in some halcyon bubble.
Mate, when one of our own, who many of us know, is in hospital having been stabbed last night with absolutely no provocation, I, for one, do not want to read some nonsense about knife crimes in Sussex.

Roma away has been notable for its danger of being stabbed for many years. Brighton away, less so.

I think we kind of do as football fans. Which is probably partly why ours are finding issues in Europe. We have a completely inexperienced fanbase when it comes to these kind of fixtures.

I was thinking a little along the lines of the OP, who seems to have been shot down in flames (not by you) …but you make a very valid point there
