Got to be OFAH all the way. Fast Show was just trendy but not overly funny.

OFAH was funny in the same way that, say, Are You Being Served or The Good Life or Terry And June was funny ie gently not very funny at all. Mrs Slocombe's Pussy anyone?
For the early mid 80's it was a superb sit com.

Fast show is mid late 90's sketch, its like comparing gravy with cheesy peas

Not really a fair contest, two completely different types/styles of show, separated by 10-15 years
Why does that make it unfair? The question is simply which is your favourite.

one is like a warm pair of tatty slippers, one is BRILLIANTTTTT with SCORCHIO catchphrases potato and characters tomato.

Also the depth of the characters and their story arcs were immense for a comedy program - the tearful end when he was very very drunk, is a gut punch, the one sided relationship between Ted and Ralph, the painters and his dark obsession.
You didn't expect any of that in a sketch show.

plus on the other side I thought Cassandra couldn't act and was a wooden actress and their on off relationship was boring (see Friends for how that should have been done) OFAH went on too long.
Absolutely. (And as an actor Buster Merryfield wasn't much cop either). Plus I can never forgive them for those 'specials' they made after the ending - which was good as they (finally) became millionaires and went off into the sunset.

I'll admit it wasn't bad overall, but I was never a big fan. I see it as a sort-of slightly better version of Mrs Brown's Boys.

Whoa l can't believe the voting is this close, 63 v 48 as l post this. To my mind Only Fools, like Dad's Army, and Fawlty Towers are three of the funniest sitcoms ever produced.

Just goes to show l guess that we are all different, and that humour has changed so much over the last few decades.

Trying to imagine how upset some on here will be at a Fawlty Towers vs Only Fools & Horses Final...
