With a fully fit squad we win those games.
Playing the strongest team at the start of the match we win those games.

We went 1 up against Sheffield and it was going fine until Dahoud made a poor challenge and got sent off.

If we start our strongest team every game, we'll get more fatigue and more injuries, and we can complain about the manager not using his squad better.

His running style looks incredibly slow, but he usually seems to actually go at about the same pace as the opposition.
Long legs . . . He's being used by a few tards as a Scapegoat for a normal day. . . . . Remember when Pascal Gross 'is slower than my Gran' . . . . In 2019-20 according to some idiots.

2 assists, a goal, 2 MotM grade performances and 2 full games in the last 4 days. . . . . And he's sooooo old he must be slower.

JPVH deputised better then Dunk last week.

One thing I noticed with JPvH today (this isn’t me looking for a scapegoat BTW) was whenever he made a tackle on halfway and failed to win it he looked incredibly slow when getting back and more than once hadn’t reached the box when the shot took place. Hopefully just tiredness and with some recovery time will be fine.

I don't think A1X intended to use him as a scapegoat.

I often look at Van Hecke running back and think 'oh god he's slow', and then he seems to have got back fine. Maybe it's long legs, but it just looks weird.

And without wanting to re-open the goalkeeper debate on this thread, its also my view that Sanchez was a far superior 'keeper compared to either of the options we have now.
Not sure it is doing Steeles or Verbruggans confidence any good with the constant changes. Not sure how a keeper gets fatigued. We need to stick with a No 1 and then the clean sheets will follow

There's a lot of entitlement and over expectation creeping in round here. It's not a good look.
Is it over expectation to think we should beat a team that has been very poor? You can and should make a call on what you see in front of you and that's the 3rd home game we have drawn but on the balance of play we should have won and in 2 or 3 of those other games should win and that's excluding Liverpool?

MOTD analysis - plenty of praise for Trafford's saves.

23 more starting changes for the Albion than any other EPL team this season, but Jenas reckons that we're "still a really good side".

Quite odd MOTD highlights. They showed every Burnley attempt and about 1/10 of ours.

I haven’t read the whole thread and was only able to watch the second half live, but what is it about GKs playing well against us? I don’t think we’re imagining that it seems to happen a lot more often against us than vs most other sides?

Yet at this point last season, we had scored only 28 goals, compared with 33 this season. Hardly the sign of a team whose ability to shoot this season is poor.
But surely 1 goal from 29 shots tells you the opposite. Yes their keeper made some good saves but not 28 of them , some of our shooting is very poor and slow so we are shooting into a box with lots of bodies to get in the way.

I just woke up !!
Teams like Burnley !
How many shots on target, per goal scored ratio for the season would be interesting to see.
11:1 yesterdays game !
Isn't the target big enough.

We never really opened them up we really miss Pervis and Lamptey as there is no overlap play whatsoever. It was very Potter esq today plenty of half chances I thought Trafford saved what he would of been expected to save there weren’t any wow how did he save that moments for me.

:tantrum:

Although my favourite MOTD gripe was the NSCer who claimed they had shown all of the Brentford attempts and not enough of ours.

They had indeed shown all of the Brentford attempts, three of them, all of which resulted in goals 🤣

You can't give Burnley or Sheff U any stick for playing that way, we had to do it on many an occasion in our first few seasons in the PL, but it's bloody frustrating that we don't seem to learn from playing these sides. I thought we were going all out with effectively three forwards starting plus an AM, go for the jugular and f*** their game plan up early, but clearly not. God knows what our plan was in the first half. Our build up play was so slow, Dahoud and Lallana in midfield was painful to watch. The former looked like he was playing in a testimonial, the latter looked like he had won a competition to play in said testimonial. Balls were going out wide to Milner, seemingly with an expectation that he was going to skin their right back and carry it forward down the wing?! Joao Pedro was back covering at LB at times... Fergie looked a shadow of the player we saw at the end of last season again. I thought Baleba was wasted in that role today as well, we really could have done with him in the middle and maybe Igor playing as the 'libero'. It was a bit of a mess, I guess that's down to keeping players fresh etc, and it's going to be a bit disjointed with players playing out of position and key cogs missing, but that one was up there in the series of bizarre first half performances this season. Seemed we were trying to overcomplicate things and only really got in our stride when Burnley went full on park the bus. I get that we have an arguably more important game on Thursday and played on Weds but it's still a bit disappointing.

Not much more we could've done second half and Trafford made some good stops, but allowing them to be in that position at HT in the first place was a fatal mistake.

Its a shame we've had these games (home v Fulham, Sheff U, Burnley) at this stage of the season with injuries and Europa games to contend with, as I reckon a fresh team with Perv, Enciso, Ansu, Welbz, Lamptey and Solly available beats them all by 3/4 clear goals.

This isn't intended as a moan- I always said getting out of the EL group, a top half finish and a decent cup run would be a superb season for us, and that was before the ridiculous number of injuries- it's just bloody frustrating!

Atmosphere was really disappointing today as well from where I was sat in the east corner of the north stand (normally sit in NWC) . Very, very flat in the first half and eventually picked up a bit towards the end. We tried carrying the singing from the NS across but nobody was interested. I have no idea how you solve it, and I know a lot of teams struggle for atmosphere at home, but it doesn't help the players when it's like a bloody morgue. We just seem to have a lot of people at the Amex that are indifferent to it all. Those around me only seemed to give a shit about checking up on the United game  Hordes of people leaving on 85 mins today as well. Yeah the transport is shit and of course some have legit reasons, but it's not a great look when we're throwing everything into getting a winner. I did get out of The Bridge in a record 15 mins though despite leaving on the whistle, so it wasn't all bad.

Idk what the point of this post is but it's nice to vent.

On one hand I'm saying to myself that we are doing amazingly well to even be top half with the players available - if you told us last season we would play most of this season without MacAllister, Caicedo, Colwill, March, Enciso, Estupinan, Welbeck, Webster you'd probably just want to stay in bed and try and keep the relegation thoughts away. So its really a development season, blending experience with youth and developing the youngsters and future seasons will be exciting accordingly.

But really, its not panning out that way, its not the kids whose mistakes and inexperience are holding us back, instead its the kids who are holding it all together, who have been both our best players and the ones who are staying fit. Its the experienced players who are getting sent off, the experienced ones losing form, the experienced ones getting injured. No of course you can't blame March, Estupinan and Welbeck for their injuries, but here we are. Meanwhile it looks like this is a season to far for Lallana, if he can't play more than 45 minutes and if he can't recapture his form of previous years then is this him done? Milner looks every inch the player a lot of us were confused about signing. Steele is letting a lot of goals go past and even his nice passing seems to be waning in favour of more aimless long balls. Dahoud is showing nothing more than a short-haired Davy Propper with some occasional nice touches but disappearing for long periods.

Thank heavens for Pascal Gross. But thank more for van Hecke, Pedro, Adingra, Ferguson, Gilmour, Fati and Hinshelwood being superb and contributing way more than their young years would suggest.
