Really disappointing to lose one of our best and most talented youngsters. Especially as he batted so well in all formats.

Very concerning and means it will be very difficult to persuade other talented cricketers to join Sussex

Continues to be a sorry state of affairs at the club at the moment, what a parting gift from Mr Andrew letting Orr go.

Next few days are going to be interesting, worried that things could get even worse before they get better.

More to this than meets the eye FYI.

Orr has been badly advised, walked in and demanded a pay rise and long term contract, refused to play at the back end of last season unless his demands were met.

Powers that be not impressed with the attitude and demands, a feeling that he then became a bad apple within the changing room so a compensation deal with Hampshire was the best deal for all parties.

Be prepared for a significant incoming overseas batsman to replace him for next season.

My lad gets on really well with Ali, and spent a lot of time with him while rehabbing his broken back last season.
He was really surprised, and disappointed, to hear the news yesterday.

What is the po[nt in posting things that are just not true. 2nd and 3rd paragraphs are rubbish

I can ensure they are 100% fact.

Ali is a good kid. He’s just been badly advised by his agent.

What should have been positive talks about a contract extension turned sour and his agent was the main instigator.

Obviously more to it, but seems a real inability to deal with difficult contract negotiations? Of course Orr will demand a good pay rise - he was one of our best players. Seems odd to not spend money on that but then have a permanently revolving door of overseas batsmen with limited link to the club. Sadly, nothing really comes as a surprise any more. The board seems rotten

Sussex CCC fans need to have done what we did. Occupy the members' enclosure, force out the directors, replace the board, totally change the club from within. But they didn't. My stepfather, a life member, is buried in the outfield and I have always taken a passing interest. If SCC fans cared about Sussex like BHAFC fans do the Albion, this wouldn't be happening, would it?

But that's what did happen in 1997 and it wouldn't shock me if it happened again. It needs someone to be a figurehead to lead the revolt - preferably an ex-Sussex player. It was Lester last time, maybe it's going to be Grizz this time round

What wouldn't be happening?

Would these fans after their coup d'état install a new management team who would make no mistakes or poor sporting decisions?

The situation at SCCC is not even remotely comparable with the Albion's dark days.

The current board have made some poor appointments, some terrible decisions, and have lost good players - almost all through the sad realities of the crippling financial landscape facing any non-Test County Club in the modern era. What this board is NOT doing is risking the long term financial viability of the Club. Comparing them to Archer and Co is completely wide of the mark, and uncalled for.

IMO, like.

Adams? Not exactly Sussex thrpough and through unless it suits him. His behaviour when he moved to Surrey and alledgedly tapped up Sussex players leaves a lot to be desired. Also a major sense of entitlement to the chap having spoken to those who have dealt with him. If he is the answer then the question is wrong.
