How do you know that no one else has? Others might have been banned and just accepted it and not made a big fuss about it. We all know what happens at the Amex if you throw something ... a pie or bottle of water.

The moral of the story is....don't throw stuff at the football. It really isn't that hard.
The club posted a celebratory video, what he did was a tiny part of that (if visible at all), but agree he was a bit unlucky to be singled out by an Ajax steward for it when he clearly wasn’t the only one who did it - the ban has followed his ejection by them (I suspect that’s binary, and not following any additional evidence being reviewed etc). Hasn’t helped himself by posting his confession on SM looking for sympathy though imo.

I don't think people getting punished for something they have admitted to doing is a 'victim'.
It's the thin end of the edge.

I'm of the same view the club have called this right.Essentially a 5 match ban for being ejected at an away ground (due to behaviour - which he’s admitted in the article, so ‘seeing the cctv‘ is kind of irrelevant now). I’m even more certain the club got this right reading his account of it

The beer luzzing is shown very clearly in a video which the club itself put up on social media to show how wonderful 'the limbs' were.
A quiet word would have sufficed IMO

So, given he was ejected by stewards, handed to the police, his ID details were given to the club and he has admitted the offence which explicitly goes against both the rules of the ground but also those at the Amex, what do you suggest would have been the appropriate punishment? 2 games? 4 games? Pelted with confiscated bottle tops? We were all warned when buying tickets that any anti social behaviour would not be tolerated - I don't see the club has much option here. It's hardly the crime of the century but they can hardly ignore it either. And it was bloody annoying on the night but like most people I just muttered a bit and moved on.

Technically it may be argued that you are correct, but I'm glad I don't live my life in such a black and white manner.
I feel the 'limbs' video is a bit of a red-herring. Someone posts it, realises after the event it should not go up......deletes it. No big deal.
A quiet word might have sufficed, but as a message you cannoy deny this 5 (or 10) match ban has had a much wider reach within the supporter base than a simple quiet word.
I do not have any issue with people doing what the hell they like, until it encrouches on other people's enjoyment. I had friends who were drenched in beer at both Marsaille and Ajax and were rightfully f***ed off.
Stadium lager isnt my thing, but maybe next time I'll start luzzing bouillabaisse around and see how Mr Anonymous from Dogma likes that.

Only just came across this thread and seen what's happened but I don't have much sympathy for people if they were deliberately throwing cups with beer in. I think it's a bit different if you're spraying the beer in the air (but holding your cup), not nice still (to me at least) but realistically it doesn't harm people much compared to a cup with liquid in which could really hurt some one if it hits them.
Alcohol makes people do stupid things, had so many close calls with idiots who have drunk too much at the Amex and they're acting out of their mind, really pisses me off

The point I was making is that he had more empathy without his post - seems he was far less hard done by than has been claimed.
