That looks as sensible as any. Possibly Gilmour will be asked to go again in central midfield, with Hinshelwood on the bench, Billy has a good engine, then he can rest up for a week.

Mitoma looked shattered on Thursday and is not as effective as end of last season. I think he needs a rest or maybe a cynical niggle for the international break.
Gross is a must pick but he cannot keep this up without a rest either.

Play the strongest 11 we can. We aren’t going to see any benefit from resting Gross, Mitoma etc if they then go and play two games next week for their countries. If we’ve got genuine concerns about their fitness then pull them from international duty but we don’t want to be weakening our side on Sunday anymore than it has to be.

I have no idea how this works in practice, but that’s not my problem. I liked seeing Buonenotte through the middle more than out wide, he seems to play with more purpose there.

Why wouldn’t one of Dahoud or Gilmour start? They don’t need a rest. Fati came off after an hour so no reason why he couldn’t shafy also.

Someone mentioned the 3 at the back option a bit earlier. I agree, I can't see how he can play a back 4 or 5 with the full-back issues we now have.

It looks like quite a patched up side really. He might play Dahoud again, maybe ahead of Gross. I thought Dahoud looked good last night and Gross could probably do with a rest.

It is time to unleash fati starting in the prem. Pedro looked done in. I think we need height to defend set plays so all centre backs play.

Mitoma looks tired but we can’t be resting him for Japan to benefit. This feels like a game we really have to win to turn the prem season back positive.

I'd love to see us go strong, I'd love to see Fati start for once. He could put Sheffield away in the first half and make it an easy afternoon for us. They will battle like anything and defend what they have, so let's not help them by playing a lot of inexperienced kids.
