Now that opponents have a strategy when our keeper has the ball at his feet will the crowd get on the back of the team if Jason/Bart delays passing for 10-20 seconds?

Against Bournemouth The Bloke Behind Me (TBBM) was screaming for it to be ‘launched’ and the North Stand was clearly grumpy too.

Will the reaction be the same against Liverpool?

I don't know, but I fully expect a very bouncy shirts off for the Albion song if it does get a bit yawny on the pitch,I can't see Liverpool just sitting there waiting for us to try and play through them,I do think we may see quite a few more balls over the top like thems good old 4th division days.

I suspect that whoever is in goal will have spent a good few sessions since practising exactly what to do if they don't engage, maybe we should do the same in the North and practice what we should do. Can't see Liverpool not engaging though

Clearly some people do not enjoy watching dicking and fannying around at the back as much as others.

For me, the frustration wasn't us taking time, it was the insistence on repeating the same thing that didn't work over and over - ball straight up the middle to ferguson who then got outmuscled and us on the back foot.

Especially since it's been two weeks, and we saw another team doing it. We should be looking at a variety of options. Whether that is playing it short to Dunk/Webster to draw the press, then back to keeper to play forward, or more movement from players upfield to make a long ball option (such as v Marseille where March would run infield, leaving a gap in the channel to play Veltman in - just need a better ball/better control for that one)

In fairness, I usually give it until the 2nd minute before offering RDZ my considered opinion based on hundreds* of hours of playing Kevin Toms Football Manager

*excludes loading time, which was approximately 40mins

Doubt Klopp will have the suss of the impressive Andoni Iraola who told his Bournemouth players to just refuse to engage with the rolling the ball out under the foot thing. Took all of 30 seconds of playing statues for the North Stand to turn on our own players :lolol:

The most curious thing..
Don't forget that if Liverpool lose, the game will be replayed in a fortnight's time.

Reminds me of the Withdean days under Poyet, when there were shouts to launch it long rather than passing about at the back. Of course if the ball was launched long and we lost possession the same moaner would then shout even louder that they should have kept possession.

Some people just seem to moan at everything. We could win 5-0 tomorrow, and they would still be moaning about a missed chance for a 6th.

I can’t see klopp’s ego allowing Brighton to have the ball against mighty Liverpool.
He would be silly to press us. Allowing us to have the ball is the best way to play us.
We haven’t got any idea of what to do when it happens.High press and the opposition are in all sorts,no press and we are hopeless tbh

Back in Sussex
MOTC (Most of the Crowd) remained patient against Bournemouth, as they understand the plan and are prepared to let the players do their thing.

TBBM, and similar, do not understand the plan and wait for any opportunity to feel vindicated and scream the players to JFGROI (just f***ing get rid of it).
