FDM, obs, but I am galled by the omission of Nicky Rust. I was convinced he would play in the premier league, even England, when i first saw him

Came here to say pretty much this. Without Nicky Rust on the list, it was an easy decision, of course it's Kuipers. Only Rust would have given me a reason to pause and think.

My favourite would have been Powney . He was the man at the time when I was young and became obsessed with the Albion.
Would he stand against our later keepers ? I don’t know but I loved the guy.

John Keeley was my favourite due to my age at the time, get promoted and I think he was a bit of a lad. Not necessarily the best.

I'm glad Sanchez at least got a mention.

It's a shame how it has ended - but it was exciting at the time how he burst onto the scene. And I know we'd be reluctant to admit it, he IS a quality keeper. He did some quality things for us.

I'd be surprised if he got a single vote here though.

I'm not reluctant to admit that he is a quality keeper. I think the shot-stopping and box-dominating sides of his game is far superior to Steele's. He's just not got the ball skills to satisfy RDZ's style.

Anyway, the correct answer is Kuipers. Easy.

He was the keeper in the best Albion team I'd ever seen (up to the last couple of years anyways), seeing him get manhandled by Dunk n Duffy when he pulled off incredible saves was always amusing and the role he took on in the aftermath of the airshow disaster showed him to be a good man as well.

Shame about his exit but can also understand not wanting to run the risk of sitting on the bench after you'd just helped get a team promoted.

An easy choice. But big shout outs to some very good keepers we've had over the years. Keeley was very good, Beeney also. I quite liked Ormerod, he was actually really agile, struggled a bit with kicking

Eric ‘Groucho’ Steele for me. Not a tall keeper but extremely agile and a character. Went on to become a successful goal keeping coach.

Was goalkeeping coach at both Manchester clubs, and later as the FA's specialist keeping coach for the England age group teams. I met him at St George's Park when he was working with my nephew, who was playing for the England U17s. Nice bloke.
