Not a moan but has there any been any discussion around erecting some sort of shelter over the train station ramp?

There were clearly train issues last night and with the rain and post match disappointment there was lots of frustrated and wet fans, can't help but think fans would be much more forgiving of delays if there was some kind of shelter from the elements.

I can’t imagine there is but the stewards on the Brighton side were clearly enjoying keeping people on the wet part of the queue when they could have moved them under the ramp a lot quicker.

They were decent when an old boy had to come out of the queue for what looked like medical attention though. Hope he was ok.

Shirley, to avoid wasting money in the summer we should have expensive drone umbrellas for such occasions?

Would be far cheaper to hand out Withdean-esque ponchos

Third World Amex problems.
Is it really a long term cost effective option for the club? How often does it rain that hard? Really not that often.
Maybe the Withdean Poncho's need to be given out again...

4 car carriages passing through Falmer again. The one that was 8 carriages and somehow lost four carriages in the Lewes balckhole was particularly perplexing. This was a nightmare for the poor platofrm staff and the disabled fans they were trying to assist.

4 car carriages along the west coast as well. Rammed journey in and rammed journey home. If only there were more carriages available.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention the Brighton/Hove shuttle had 12 carriages. These dumped all of the west coasters at Hove to wait for the 4 carriage service to Bognor before heading back to Brighton empty alongside two other services heading in that direction.

Trams.

Manchester have them. Newcastle have them. Nottingham have them. All this nonsense about levelling up. It needs to level up back this way a bit!

Although dry side was stretching it as getting to that shelter meant getting soaked en route and stand in numerous pools of water on the ramp similar to the ones featured in that Dr Foster nursery rhyme

Ah. If I didn't know the result, if all I'd done was open NSC and stumble on this thread I would have known immediately that we'd lost. Bet the car parks were shit as well.

Very true...

BTW had to look up Dr Foster

Doctor Foster went to Gloucester
In a shower of rain,
He stepped in a puddle,
Right up to his middle,
And never went there again.

Be careful what you ask for. I think a tram service from Worthing to Newhaven would be fantastic. The disruption of building it and the impact on traffic through the pinch points is something you have to be prepared for.

Blooming rain ruined my commemorative program and poster so going to have to get another one. Very much first world problems! Got very wet walking back to the my car, so would appreciate it if there was a covered walkway all the way back... 😜 Could have done without the ***** person driving at speed through the puddle as they passed me. I may have called them a few names... 😂

Can we have a roof from the stadium to The Bridge car park too? Maybe with a monorail running on top back to Brighton?
And a teleporter from West Upper to Faversham. Beam me up, Barbsy.

buses. other cities have them. trains. other cities have them too.

point is it's difficult for train service to magic up for a 3 hour period once every other week. same problem will happen with trams, you'll get wet waiting for them too. the obvious solution is either the club pay more (outright buy?) some carriages to provide additional service, or provide more bus/coaches.

and some covers over the queues.

Falmer to Lewes home last nght wasn't too bad I thought, enjoyed the steward chasing the dick when ran down the disabled side and caught him at the bottom and sent him back to the top, shame it doesnt happen with the many other perfectly able people that are not stopped.

Trains from Lewes to Falmer though  Lewes-Brighton only train cancelled and other 4 carriage from Seaford/Eastbourne were full when they arrived at Lewes, was lucky we got there early enough to squeeze on the second train in, god only know how late those at the end of the queue got to the ground
