This kind of stuff is starting to annoy me. First of all, the match is still more than 2 weeks away and is still only on sale to ST holders and members so why not just wait before reaching conclusions? Second, and it’s been said repeatedly, not everyone can go to all the games, so need to pick and choose. Going to Marseille for several days is a big deal for many people. It’s ok if you’re a young single bloke who can easily get time off work. For every other demographic it’s not so simple, trying to juggle family and work commitments, not to mention finances. In my own case, TBH time and money are not major issues but I know I wouldn't get away with swanning off to Europe on my own so I’ve had to factor in what I can sell to my wife. I didn’t fancy being herded round in Marseille and we’ve been to Amsterdam quite recently so it’s Athens for us. I’ve already booked travel and am now hoping for a ticket. Other people will have their own reasons for making their choice.

You might be disappointed that it’s not been an instant sell out but you shouldn’t be 'genuinely baffled'. It’s obvious if you think about it! I’m pretty sure the match will sell out or very nearly sell out.

Agreed. I'm sure many would love to attend every europa home and away game but for various reasons wouldn't be able to commit to that.

For those lucky enough to attend all 6 games, I'd imagine their financial outlay would be at least 2k and could easily exceed that by double depending on where they live and travel arrangements. For the majority of people that is a huge expense and difficult to justify in uncertain economic times.

Is anyone else staying in the Toyoko Inn hotel? This is where I am staying and it is a 5 min Taxi ride to Place de La Joliette. So I my going to leave my hotel around mid day and get a taxi to the ticket pick up point.

I'm booked up for all six and I'm on about £700 at the moment. That includes flights, accommodation, home tickets, expected away tickets, various trains and airport parking. I suppose I've still got to factor in petrol and food and drink, and even though I'm a fat bastard I'll be nowhere near 2k.

That's impressive at £700 - I'm guessing you booked flights/accommodation early on? I'd have loved to go to Marseille but it tallys up to about £750/800 just for that one for me.

That's incredible but I suspect that will be among thr lowest you could spend, I've seen people talk about paying around £400 for just their arrangements for one away game.

Fair play to you though, very jealous!

Yep, we're all pretty high with loyalty points so booked flights on the Saturday morning. Marseille and Amsterdam accommodation is very basic, but we're only there for one night. Two nights in Athens and seemed to be loads of very reasonably-priced Airbnbs when I booked.

Amsterdam at £170 return from City is our most expensive flight. And that was a panic as prices just went bonkers. I've since heard of cheaper on the Eurostar. Athens was c£80, Montpellier was c£60 (plus £26 train), no accommodation is more than £50 each a night. Like I said above, helps we could get booked straight away.

I don't care too much for comfort so can do it on the cheap side. We're flying from Gatwick to Toulouse on the Wednesday and back from there on the Friday (£90). Train to Marseille takes 4 hours or so (£25). Staying in a hostel for 2 nights that's 10 minutes walk from the Albion fan area (£55 for both nights). Train back to Toulouse is slighty pricier (£45). £165 + match ticket + food and beers isn't bad at all

Could have got even cheaper flights from Luton/Stanstead but there's a train strike on the Wednesday so would be a pain (and increase the price)

Still think >2.5k that we've sold so far is a phenomenal effort bearing in mind there notice time has been very short. I think we'll get up to around 2.8-3k by the end of next week when they're taken off of sale.
Only 660 left so well over 2.5k have gone. Think some of those on the fence will get on board if Thursday night is as exciting as we all hope.

As you say, phenomenal effort so far.

Yes I’m staying there but only on Thurs night. I’m hoping they will be able to take my bag Thurs am until I can check in (which I assume will be after I’m back from the game!).

If they don't PM me and I will put it in my room for you. I promise not to look in it. ;-)
